Here's some info on the pads that are being made for UltraMix...

MadCatz is making a pad for Xbox at the same time as Konami's making UltraMix. Lemme see if I can find a link... (scroll down; pad is around the bottom of the page).

Pic of MadCatz pad:

Here's a pic of the Konami pad:

I hope they bring out a sturdier one for the Xbox version, I find that playing on the mats frustrating at times because the damn thing moves around the room so much!
Ive got a proper pad for my Xbox, but ive left the thing in america, so i cant remember the details offhand, but ill give my mum a ring and ask her to get some pics of it. All i remember is that its $150 or so

Ignitions are found at local EBs.

Go to StepMania.com and they'll show you recommended adapters. They work for PC and Mac OS X.

Ignition pad, eh? Can get these anywhere? Also, forgot to mention before, I'm also looking for a pad, or, well a converter I suppose, so I can hook the pad up to my PC to play stepmania. Any suggestions for that as well?

Use the Ignition pad. Has two plugs for Xbox and PS2, no need for a converter. It's $100 though. =P

Ahh, double postage is fun. But ok in this case, since, you know, I haven't posted for 6 months.

Ok, I'm looking for some nice pads, preferably round the 50 buck range, but if I have to go higher, I will. I don't really need a metal pad, but I would probably like to get the best soft pad possible, that can be converted to be used for xbox and ps2. Any ideas as to where I would look for these or the best place to find them?

Yup yup, i have the beat pad pro. It's not bad at all, actually. It does slip a bit as to be expected, but i like it alot, and it's in my price range lol.

EDIT: Anyone know if they have those nice pads for xbox? Like the ones that are $50 or so? I can't seem to find them anywhere, and i am in desperate need of them.

Mad Catz also has a souped-up version of the Beat Pad, known as the Beat Pad Pro. In addition to the free Communicator extender, it also comes with - get this - an adapter to use it with the PS2! No need to buy two pads for two systems. Also has a handy zippdered carry case that is actually a tad bigger than the pad AND the cord(s). Not wireless... but it's a good trade-off for good performance. I find that it slides a good amount, though.

[EDIT] Current list price is $35 USD at EBgames.
