Havent played a ton of Unreal 2004 yet, loved GOTY though. I loved Sniping, had an awesome custom level made for it and am missing it on 2004. I do not like the lightning gun one bit, and don't like the smoke effects. The reload time is annoying to, I guess I just don't like it being harder to do. Anyways can anyone tell me what maps are awesome for sniping. I know about the Facing Worlds one but what else. I was in one level but it was just the lightning gun, I want something with the sniper rifle.
I don't know about levels for that but, just a tip: if you can see them, they can see you.

When i get sniped i just grab a Flak Cannon, or a Shock Rifle or something like that.

I haven't played UT2004 or 2003 yet, but plan to soon.
Anyways, sniping is the skill - few people who know how to snipe don't know how to use some other weapon in combination with the sniper.
As for camping - or campers - they shouldn't be an issue, camping as as much a strategy for playing as is runnign out with guns blazing. Now I remember in UT you'd get complaints for camping and sniping, but then if you took double enforcers and tore them apart, you still got complaints and crap like "use a real gun"...
If anything, flaks are for beginners and people who don't have "real" skill... The damned shards cover 1/2 your view, forget aiming and hand-eye coordination, just hold the *bleep*ing mouse button down and run. And if that doesn't work, just lob them shells into where-ever you can't see, if you miss the person with the shell then when it explodes some shards have to hit, right?
And for the snipers that camp, that doesn't make them noob. Ever see a camping sniper just teleport away as soon as you get close enough? Or sometimes you shoot them but don't manage to completely kill them and then they teleport? I know a few people that camp (particularly in death match) and have the transponder at some other location in the map just in case. And they will move every now and then to replace it.
And try feiging death - it takes a lot of skill to know when to feign death. Or maybe staffing and jumping. Snipers can only do so much, and at the same time, to be an effective sniper requires as much skill as it does to be an effective rambo - and an effective rambo is as deadly against any stupid sniper and any effective sniper is deadly to a stupid rambo.
If snipers are getting on your nerves then it's more likely than not you need to improve your game - It does perhaps take more map cognition to play a rambo and more hand-eye coordination to play a sniper, but that's just like saying some people can jump higher than others and others can run faster than some...
Ironically, the players that snipe and get killed ask for help on how to learn to snipe better, while when the reverse happens you get complaints as to how snipers play cheap and what not... Is it really a wonder that snipers are better players, usually?

Want to snipe well? Play some CS... i have barely played UT but i can still own with the sniper rifle when i did play just because of the CS skills... 1337 kr3w indeed.
Also, about snipers not having skill, everybody complains about that in CS but it's just damn stupid. If it was the best gun without discussion, needing no skill, everybody would be using it. It's just a diff gun. If you can't kill them with your flak cannon, learn to use the sniper rifle since it's so easy and takes no skill, and just outsnipe them. Since you have real skills i'm sure that shouldn't be too hard.

I know, I will snipe somebody a few times and they will get mad and say "stop, you are hiding from me" and stuff. so I get down and I stop sniping and what happens? they snipe me. then I say "o, you are hiding" and they say "thats the only thing I can do".

Snipers suck, all they do is camp camp camp, im so sick of losing half of my shield to some idiot with a sniper rifle, they have good aim, but there so extremely lame, they ruin the fun for me and others, now thers nothing wrong with sniping, but if you snipe the WHOLE LEVEL AND IN EVERY GAME, then you need to stop sniping and get some real skillz.

today I had a sniper rifle and I zoomed up and shot a guy in the head 4 times and he didn't die? he was standind still and the dot was on his head.
I like the (+) thing you did like a sniper rifle scope.

For the second time someone has to say this the game is called UNREAL tournament. Youd think by now we'd have a retractable scope.
