I think you can only change the language in the PAL version. (Europe and Australian version) But I don't have PAL so I don't know how to change it.

Yeah just buy the english version, it's alot easier to throw money at a problem then fix it with 99% perspiration

If you haven't gotten the answer yet,

1. Touch screen to get past the WARNING screen
2. Click the little file cabinet (DS) at the very bottom of the screen.
3. Click the wrench.
4. Select the "GLOBE"
5

. Now, select what language you want.

Maybe this can help?

"Its quite simple, turn off the console then hold down the A button on your controller then turn the console back on and the language settings will be displayed /craigbec"
