Okay, since a lot are asking if their computer can RUN half-life 2, I'll be posting the minimum and recommended system requirements. If you're asking if your pc can play this game on a good fps rate, read the recommended requirements. Anyway, can someone make this a sticky? I'm not sure if I can do that...

Minimum System Configuration
1.2 GHz Processor
256MB RAM
DirectX 7 capable graphics card (64 MB or higher)
Windows 2000/XP/ME/98
Mouse
Keyboard
Internet Connection
CD or DVD rom drive

Preferred System Configuration
2.4 GHz Processor
512MB RAM
DirectX 9 capable graphics card
Windows 2000/XP/ME/98
Mouse
Keyboard
Internet Connection
CD or DVD rom drive (retail version only)

Hope this clears things up and saves the time for people to answer questions...

Hi all I was just wondering whether or not to attempt to install Half Life 2 on my laptop. I ask for 2 reasons, It's quite old now but meets all requirement except maybe the graphics card as per usual. The card I have is as follows:

manufacturer : ATI
type : MOBILITY RADEON 9000 IGP

My only other concern would be that if I installed it on my laptop now, then I won't be able to install it on my PC at a later date. I only ask becuase I heard you need to register online or something. Sorry for the ignorance on my part but any help would be much appreciated.
Have a check with http://www.systemrequirementslab.com/referrer, and no you would be able to play on a different PC, as long as you know your Steam username and password you can install on multiple PCs.

Okay, so i do have a dual core processor (3.0) and and a gig of ram.

but i also happen to have
"integrated sound and video"
which means shit.
although, i can run direct x 9.

should hl2 run good on HIGH or medium? none of that low shit
Medium at a push, you've got DX9 software not the proper DX9 hardware which I'm afraid is also crap. Try http://www.systemrequirementslab.com/referrer/srtest
