quote Wei Nan
It actually depends on what you like. DDR: Ultramix is easier to play, and would be the ideal game for a starting dancer. But if you've already played a bit, DDR: Ultramix 2 would be more ideal.

But that is all just my opinion, and may not be viewed in the same way. For myself, though, I've never been able to pass Light difficulty. On DDR: Ultramix, I've been able to get to Standard, and even Heavy, on some songs.
I actually find Ultramix 2 to be easier. Everytime when I use both the Xbox controller or Dance Pad on each game, I get a whole lot more Perfects in Ultramix 2 than the first one. Plus, I just got 4 AAA's in Ultramix 2 and I can only get AA's in Ultramix.

Yeah, I just got Ultramix 2 on my birthday (March 27th) and then got Ultramix 1 a few days later and found out that the second is WAAAAAAY better.

It is infinitely better than the dud Ultramix 1 (and since it's recent, DDR EXTREME for the PS2) is.

Have a look at its pros: http://neoseeker.com/forums/index.php?fn=view_thread&t=476313
