I'm Guitarheroineo1, a.k.a GHN1. I love Tales of the abyss--it was the very first game I ever played from the Tales series. Tales of Symphonia is my favorite right now, but ToA comes in at a close second.

I agree that having to constantly read subtitles kinda takes away some of the whole anime watching experience. (wow that sounded really dorky). But it does. I sometimes have to watch things over if the characters did something that I couldn't see cuz I was too busy watching the subtitles. Well.. after saying all that, the anime is still good.
*looks back at older posts* ..Have I really not introduced myself here before!? OMG!! Well.. I'm Keera.. and I've been in this forum for.. I dunno, a little while. I loooove the game. I have beaten the game but have had to come to this forum for help before I could beat it. ... I'm still in shock I haven't posted on this thread before...

I wouldn't know. But as I don't understand Japanese... or am even familiar with the Japanese voice actor... it just isn't the same for me.

I know I should but I want to see it English dubbed. It's just not the same if I can't hear Jade's voice. It's the same problem I've had with the Symphonia anime... I'm still waiting for it to be dubbed because I refuse to read all those subtitles and not hear the voices of the characters as in the game. *Lol.*

Welcome to the forums, EllaFallon. I hope you enjoy your time here.
If you're looking for the game with little luck, just keep at it. Keep checking all your local video game stores especially the used sections. I will say though that some places have the game way more expensive than some others (some at $100!). If your parents are willing to order it online, I've seen a place that has it for about $21. Hope that helps you out.
