I'm sorry, the greatness that was Tony Hawk's Underground, it seems the series took a dreadful downturn with the next two sequels, THUG2 and THAW. THUG really was a treat for me, and I think really gave back to the gamers who have been around since THPS and really watched the franchise grow and advance. I thought THUG was the first huge step to creating the perfect skateboarding game, and then THUG2 went and threw all of those dreams down the toilet. It got insanely cartoony, and the emphasis on Bam Margera and his tiring lunacy was something that annoyed me to no end, and now THAW, which tries so desperately to be GTA, its pitiful, even making the most painful 'advancement' yet, retrogressing even beyond the original "Pro Skater" and giving you a set character to play through the story with!!! You can't even be female! The customizations are a joke, there aren't more of them, they're just different. Honestly, I really didn't mind the loading times. I would've rathered bigger levels, more custom options, and grittier, less cartoony graphics to the free-flowing (which is also a joke, just watch as you're trying to trick through one of the corridors between levels, trust me, that loading pause is more than a slight nusiance after a while) of this 'no-laoding' game. The only 'advancement' that I really think is a great addition is the BMX, which at times is even more fun than skating. Also, the trick animations are alot cooler, and much more realistic this time around. I'm no game developer, but I do know that you should build on something great, not take away from it. And ever since the phenomenal THUG, I've seen mostly omissions and retrogressions from the two sequels. Anyone else feel my pain?

I liked thaw, Just cuz like you could go everywhere and not have to wait for anything, so the playing field was humungous. Big bonus!

They should have just called this THUG 2.5 since they didnt really change anything. They didnt even bother changing the Freakouts....

Yawn. Same crap all over again.

Well, you can unlock Mindy... And I think that's the only girl. -__-()

I was disappointed. And I thought having to trick off of so much stuff in the Skate Park was stupid... I have better things to do than electrocute myself on props, like getting Iggy out of trouble. >-<*

If one thing really makes me mad, its the difficulty spike- and its a big one!- and how badly some missions are explained. Seriously, I might just return the game and try to pretend it doesn't exist.

You're all right, I guess. For what's it's worth, this game really isn't that bad, it just doesn't seem like what it should be. I mean, you can't even play as a girl in the story, I mean, that's ok with games like GTA or others which feature a specifc male character, but this is different. This is Tony Hawk. I mean, there aren't even any pro female skaters that you can choose from, and the variety of customizible options for girls totally suck. I think what they really need to do is make THUG: The Sequel, take what was great from that game, add even better things, and market THAT. Now, I'm not trying to start any Feminist rant here, but I do think it's pretty lame that a franchise who has more and more to include girls into the game has vitrually dropped the completely...........As well as the other things that make this game suck lol.

Actually, I didn't think THUG 2 was all THAT bad... I liked the soundtrack and creating genral destruction. Is it me, or are the controls on this game a little slow? I swear, sometimes, my character won't react in a trick for a whole second. -_-() Very annoying.

I'm not really disappointed,i'm renting it now but i doubt i'll ever buy it.The thing that keeps me going is the story mainly, and how you keep on advancing, but alot of this stuff we've seen before.

hhmmm i dont mind most of the stuff you said about thaw i mean the set skater thing at the beging was so you to pick your face and to go on the first part of the game then you can change it dramaticly. and its not at all like GTA just because it has freeroming and i think they did a great job. now THUG 2 was really bad i know but online made up for it. and so far thug 1 is my fave then thaw.
