quote WikipediaTekken 6 is the upcoming installment of Namco's Tekken series, expected to come out sometime in 2006 or 2007. At E3 in 2005, a teaser video featured Jin Kazama demonstrating some martial arts moves. Jin's skin showed different scars and shades, giving it a sense of realism. Sweat could be seen evaporating from Jin's body and going down his face. At one point, when he touches his flesh, it moves along with the movement of some sweat droplets. The video portrayed a similar dynamic look that Tekken has followed over the years; however, no more details were provided by Namco until now.
quote electronictheatre.co.ukUK retailer GAME has revealed an exclusive pre-order promotion for the highly-anticipated Tekken 6, set to be published in Europe by ATARI. Due to be released on October 30th on both PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, Tekken 6 marks not only the arrival of the series on the Current-Generation of consoles, but also the first time the Tekken series has been released across multiple home consoles.
Traditionally a staple of the PlayStation brand, bar a brief side-step to the Game Boy Advance with the respectable Tekken Advance in 2001, the Tekken series has been met with both critical acclaim and extensive consumer support since it’s first outing back in 1994. Tekken 6 brings a number of ideas and updates along with it, thanks to the added horsepower of Current-Generation Systems. Tekken 6’s new gameplay mode, Scenario Campaign, features a unique control system combining conventional fighting game controls with free movement. This control system allows players to progress through the story and mow down hordes of enemies with relative ease. In addition to hand-to-hand fighting, players have an arsenal of staffs, machine guns, flame throwers, and even giant robots at their disposal - a first for the series.
Tekken 6 is said to feature forty characters on-disc, with the obvious option of releasing more at a later date through Downloadable Content (DLC) undoubtedly remaining very much on the table. The game will be available in three different packages at launch, Collector’s Edition and Arcade Stick Edition, as well as the standard package, featuring one hundred page art book, exclusive poster, and a unique Tekken 6 hooded sweatshirt designed by the development team or a one hundred page heavyweight art book and an exclusive Tekken 6 customised wireless arcade fighting stick respectively. UK customers pre-ordering any of these packages on either format at GAME will net you an exclusive pack of forty Tekken 6: Character Profile & Special Moves Cards.
Tekken 6 is set to be the Beat-‘Em-Up highlight of the fourth quarter, and will be playable later this month at both the London MCM Expo and Eurogamer Expo, leading-up to it’s October 30th UK release date. Electronic Theatre will be right there to bring you all the latest details.
