Had a question, I recently re-installed FF8 to my new comp and I have encountered a slight problem with the gameplay. When is cities or buildings I get large black boxes that obscure my vision. The movie clips run great and on the earth views its all good, but any other time those boxes come back. I attempted to config and it said the 8-palette textures failed, is that the problem and how can I fix it

to fix the black boxes glitch, go open FF8 config(not the in-game one, should be located at the start menu entry of the game) and go to the graphics tab, on the renderer drop-down menu, choose software renderer instead of hardware. This causes some graphic options to be greyed out but it won't matter. it should fix the black boxes. I discovered this after toying with the games config.

Hmmm. Never had this happen. If one of your friends has this, try borrowing it and see if it does the same thing. If it does, then it's your computer.

Have the same problem on my computer. It's stupid. I like the game enough to deal with it, it doesn't interfere with the battles, FMVs, or the world map. Idk how to fix it so sorry.
