Cao Cao had the ambition to rule the land. Too bad when he died, it went to hell. Cao Pi wasn't a horrible ruler, he was pretty good as well, but... it just went wrong. Sima Yi was better.

I think Liu Bei was the most respectable but cao cao was the best because he was the only one who was able to defeat a large amount of enemies who actually posed a real threat to his power while he was still building a army and the ones he was facing were all larger or led by a highly skilled warrior.

Liu Bei was the greatest. He was humane and a "crafty owl" as said by Cao Cao. He inspired the greatest leaders under him "Zhuge Liang, Zhang Fei, Guan Yu" and never aspired for too much.
Cao Cao was a greedy bas****, so he isn't an option. He killed many people for no reason and he was far to ambiotious.
Wu's leader, Sun Quan, was weak. End of story. Sun Ce was great though...

Definitely, Shu had potential. Zhuge Liang was one hell of a strategist.

Cao Cao, because he expanded his power far faster than Liu Bei or Sun Jian. Besides he almost conquered all the China before dying.

I think all the leaders except sun jian did a fairly good job. I think Cao cao overall was the best though. He started off well and knew strategy was the best way to win, plus his son was a pretty sweet ruler, much better the lui bei's. Even zou ci knew cao cao was better, but he just didn't feel he had the virtue neccisary to rule the land. And the sun family was a bunch of misfits, but it is cool the sun jian and sun ce both got there starts at the age of seventeen.

But the thing is about Liu Bei, that one battle costed his and Zhang Fei's life. Liu Bei wasn't even that succesful either, if it wasn't for Zhuge Liang he wouldn't have even made it as far as he did.
