Hello everyone, I have been looking around this board for quite awhile trying to see if anyone had the same problem as me. And have come up dry.
Well here it is;
I have the game installed fine and it loads up, although when I try to play it says please insert Disc 1. So I put it in and it says "ERROR: WRONG DISC" I bought this game brand new and just removed the wrapping not too long ago so I know its not damaged or dirty. Does anyone have any thoughts?
I have tried the NVIDA graphics fix, reinstalling the game, starting the game with disc 1 inserted.
I'm running on Microsoft Windows XP Media Center Edition, NVIDA GeForce 7900 GTX. (Incase someone needs that info.)
Any help would be extremely appreciated. Thank you.

Try going to www.gameburnworld.com or www.megagames.com and get a "No-CD Crack" They're only illegal if you don't own the disk.

try to copy your disk to hard drive mount it , disable your actual cd rom drive , then try to play it. worked for me.

I thought that too, and yes I did try the other discs just gives the same message. I am thankful for your help though.
I was wondering..I know theres a way to rip the file on a disc needed for the game to start, i'm pretty sure FFVIII doesn't load off the disc (hence the HD instalation) is there anyway I can get it to work without the discs?

Maybe it's just a faulty copy, or the disks have been mixed up somehow, have you tried starting the game with disk 2 3 or 4? Long shot but it might work.
