The only person that can destroy sephiroth is cloud and as explained in KH2, when sephy does die, he is reincarnated by the darkness within cloud. Thus sephiroth can never truely die

Ok Honestly its really even. Vergil is the son of a f***in demon, Sephiroth i can't remember, because its been so long, but hes of badass decent. Sephiroth almost destroyed the world, Vergil raised Hell literally. But i digress i think in the end they would both just stop fighting, because no one would really get hurt. You could stab Vergil as much as you want, but he wont die, because hes a demon; also
Sephiroth can't really die. They explained it in advent children,not to mention his body is neigh indestructable like Vincent's(seriously you could drop a nuke, and not even faze him).so yeah... not the answer people were expecting, but still it counts. Someone should start a Dante VS. Vincent thread, but it would just have the same answer.

Vergil is much cooler.

Sephiroth is the coolest and best character in any game, sephiroth doesn't sound gay, plus Vergil sounds like the name of the grandmaster of all nerds

hate to say this, but sephiroth hasn't died and stayed dead yet, that I'm aware of, and aaa Vergil and Dante both can get messed up after being impaled. Not dead but at least hurt. Having said that Sephiroth has nothing on either Dante or Vergil's BA level so... depends on the challenge...

Dudes as a last word sephiroth can easily survive a direct hit with a satalite cannon without blocking, can vergil?

Being a fan of both games, and watching AC, etc. I really can't decide who would win this fight. Although, I almost want to say Sephiroth because Vergil just doesn't have an answer for something like Supernouva. Albeit, in a straight up sword fight, I would have to think it's a toss up, would be very exciting to watch though.

I wanted to mention since no one has brought it up yet is how vergil has his own form of royal guard. Anyone who has played on DMD mode know all to well how often and effectively vergil will block an attack. Ive seen him block all types too. Another point is how vergil has three moves where he is completely invunerable; 1. the continious helmbreakers 2. the dozens of judgement cuts 3. when he creates the purple force field summons phantom swords and taunts you.

Also I saw the end of sephiroth in advent children when cloud surronds him with swords. Doesnt that look familiar(vergils phantom swords) and vergil summons swords almost non stop. If vergil could keep seph from flying non stop I would give the fight to vergil. My 2cent

Thats whom I was speaking to, it wasnt directed at you. I have no intention of arguing about this topic anymore, I have already stated many times that I dont think you should compare an rpg character, to one in action game, thus why I decided not to continue the argument.
