I finished the game on normal and Hard level with

Spider-man
Deadpool
Thor
Human torch

I thought this was an awesome combo because it just seemed to work out for me the way I play the game. I was just wondering if anyone else had suggestions on what 4 superheroes work together best. I heard somewhere the initial team was supposed to be good ( Wolverine, Capt America, Thor, Spidey) but not for me so anybody have suggestions?

To be honest, almost every character on the game can be put together with anyone else and still make a decent team. Well, ALMOST everyone (I'm looking at you, Storm). But IMO the best team has to be:

Ghost Rider
Mr Fantastic
Iron Man
Deadpool

Mr Fantastic is on there because of his godly power with Fantastic Fists - he can just critical everything on the screen to death instantly with the big stompy move - including most mini bosses.

Ghost Rider is also hugely powerful with Ravaging Flame - it's rare to find an enemy that doesn't go down before one-three hits with that move, and Penance Stare means that he is basically never gonna run out of energy.

Deadpool and Ironman or on here because of their buffs - energy reroute means that both of them can use the energy-consuming press and hold moves that make them great, without risk of running low on energy; while Deadpool's battle cry means that both blade cyclone and uni-beam become ridiculously powerful.

Recently, I've been playing with Spider-Woman and Ghost Rider. I can't see why I'd ever need anyone else. One shot=one kill with both of them. Iron Man has the same style power too. I love it. Me and my friend have just been tearing our way through the levels. Our team right now consists of Spider-Woman, Ghost Rider, Cap and Deadpool. We've lost a character only once, when Cap jumped off a cliff. He was comp-controlled. It's totally unstoppable.

A great team should include at least one character who matches each of the following:

BRAWLER-strong melee and up-front powers, having a ranged attack helps to-mine is Black Panther.

MID-RANGE/ELEMENTAL(element to handle Ulik in Asgard-strong against annoying foes never come near brawlers or enemys to dangerous to approach for any reason-mine is Ghost Rider.

SHARP-SHOOTER-strong long range attacks and/or mid strengh multi hit attacks-mine is Silver Surfer.

WELL-ROUNDED-has powers for all occasions, strong ranged, strong up front, mid-radial, mid-multi hit, basicly all the others in one minus high striking-mine is Iron Man.
It is true shame that none of the flyers have high striking.

I try to get in a balance for the team, like one for melee, one for busts/team support, one for projectiles, and an extra. Then again, just about all have at least one ability for this breakdown. But eh, my team (when playing alone) is usually: Iceman, Human Torch, Hawkeye, and Venom.

Playing locally with friends usually consists of: Spider-Man, Thor, Iceman, and Cyclops.

The "best" team is a team that can handle anything. It's a team that can take anyone out, anytime, anywhere. It can kill from long range, short range, medium range. It can react to having 10 enemies spread out across a room and 15 surrounding it from all angles.

First off, you need someone who can kill from a long ways away. A "sniper." A good example would be Spider-Woman. Venom Blast can one-shot most normal enemies. Another good example would be Hawkeye, with his many bow powers.

Another absolute necessity is someone who can keep the heat off when you're surrounded. Radial powers are a must, especially in the early game. Luke Cage, the Thing and the Hulk all have good radial powers.

You probably also want a melee combatant with more Strike than Body. Wolverine, Captain America, Black Panther, and Daredevil all fill this role.

The fourth slot should be for support. There are a whole lot of characters with really good team Boosts. Deadpool's Battle Cry is a great power to have, and so is Iron Man's Energy Reroute. Thor also has a great one in Asgard's Blessing, which increases your power rank.

There are characters who can fill more than one of these criteria. Hawkeye's Ice Pick is a premier radial power, so he could fill your radial slot (like I did.) Captain America's Shield Throw is possibly the best power in the game. Look at the powers each character has and decide which role they'd be best to fill. The rest is really up to you.

my friend and i only play in coop and we have two teams that have beaten the game on hard. the first time we used Human Torch, Ghost Rider, Collosis, and Wolverine. Human Torch was great for radial attacks and at a certain point Ghost Riders chain grabbing move killed every minor villian instantly. Collosis and Wolverine both handle dammage well and work good when they're on AI. Didn't know it until we were in Asgard but the computer will actually make Wolverine and Collosis do the fastball.

The second time we retained Ghost Rider and Torch but threw in Black Panther and Cyclops. Black Panther was a character that we let AI control as much as possible and Cyclops is probably the worst of the 360's downloadable characters. He has great projectile powers but dies easily. Black Panther came in handy when we were fighting the Ultimos at Mandarians place. and Cyclops was good at killing off Super Soldiers from a distance without taking any damage.

wolverine for tanking, dr. strange for cc/heals, deadpool for heavy burst melee dps and attack buffs, and hawkeye for ranged light sustained dps as well as attack buffs also. have tried pretty much every team combo in this game, and this one is my far the most efficient and effective. cant wait for part 2 to come out :-) game was very entertaining
