I have had the same problem. There is something wrong with the wiring most likely. Just take it back, they should understand. I work at game crazy, so if u ever need help I'm here, but your best bet is to turn it in and get a new one as soon as you can.

Hm the mat underneath sounds good. my friend has one that doesnt slide at all! it cant be folded up cause it has big foam things in it but still, you can just unzip it and take them out, im considering getting one.

There are newer dance pads (like the ones that come with the game) with a more sticky bottom. Wood floor is great for these, and carpet is not too bad.

when i play i just put it on a wood floor and then it doesnt move at all for me. personally i cant play with my dance pad on the capet. it moves way to much. =]

what I did was I just took a hard plastic mat (the ones with the pointy things on the bottom like you see in offices) and put my mat on there. it still moved but not nearly as much.

Was that sarcasm, or is it a good idea?

Yeah, I don't see why that wouldn't work.

Mine is on carpet and it still slides like crazy, could i cover the bottom in hockeytape? For grip?

It's just like that because the pad feels rather slick. That's why it's usually better to put it on something like a carpet rather than a hard surface.
