Well, just heard some interesting news. According to another gaming site (CVG) we might be seeing the third incarnation of KOTOR finally... unfortunately, from the sounds of what's been going on lately, it might be going the way of the MMO instead of the RPG, which, I have to admit, pisses me off a bit. I wanted to go back to the original KotOR's roots, I have to admit that hearing that it's going MMO is not endearing this to me AT ALL.

I believe the term they used was 3 and onwards, I don't think they ever said a set number for where they were going to be ending this KotOR -- if you can number such a thing. =P

This mmo is supposed to cover KotOR 3-12
which means if KotOR goes back to an rpg after this mmo the new game will be KotOR 13 (lol it's funny to think about)

If anyone is interested, there's a forum for Star Wars: The Old Republic (the new MMO games) here. Be sure to hit it up for further discussion!

well, i've only every played one MMO and it definitely wasn't worth paying a monthly fee for... i played my months worth and was done, and maybe when im really bored again i'll have another months worth of play.
but if they end up putting a decent story element into it, and make the combat good... i think it could work... or maybe im just trying to trick myself into liking this game. either way, i'll give it a try just because it is what it is. maybe they'll put this one out on 360 and not charge a monthly fee... just charge you when they make an update.

As you should be.
The whole MMO PC market thing has been sort of angering me for a while. Nothing comes out for the PC which is normal anymore because everyone wants to try and emulate the success that World of Warcraft was, which I find is a waste in a field which is already overflowing with MMORPGs.

its already being developed, and videos and screens have been released here
If KOTOR goes MMO then I think they should focus on the first few years of the Civil War, and you choose to start at the jedi academy, sith academy, be a facrion soldier, exchanfe tthug, mercenary, or civilian who may or may not be force-adept (player's choice). They should also make an rpg version of the KOTOR 2 jedi's jorney after Malachor, and you have to have a save to pick up about 3 or 4 years after 2, but you are now, being the Sith Emporer and your allies turned jedi (all of them even Hanharr) make up the VERY VERY loyal dark council, or as the jedi council with you as it's grand master and Revan as your second, due to your running into him after your leaving Malachor, his journey complete which he will fill you in on whenever you want,so influential you can cause communities, cities, countries, planets, and eventually entire races to join you (or just scare the s*** out of them into joining, yay evil). And wage war on the dying republic, or the struggling Sith Empire, commanding all the armies of your society. But, to make the game difficult, the flourishing Mandos join the sith and Onderon rebels if you are light, and High Sith officers defect and remake the Jedi order making it stronger than it ever was if you are dark, strengthening the opposing army. The enemy also has the power to turn planets against YOU! Ultimately it is the last full-scale war to tilt the balance of power to dark or light, permanately. COMPLETE WITH DETAILED ENDING OF THE NEW FUTURE IF DARK PREVAILS, OR AN ELABORATION ON THE KOTOR TO Ep. 1 TIME GAP!!!

I'm afraid that since I have created this thread, it has been confirmed that, unfortunately, the KotOR series is going the path of Massive Multiplayer Online and is turning away from it's RPG roots. Sorry to give you guys such rotten news!
