I just played Condemned for the first time yesterday. I work midnights so I have really nothing to do on the weekends. I started at about 3AM and didn't stop until I beat it at about 12PM. I have to say it is one of the coolest games I've played in a while. I will definitely be looking for this awesome sequel.

A few days ago, about 15 months after my original post (lol), I finally picked up the Condemned 2: Bloodshot for PS3 and once again I was instantly hooked. The controls took a few minutes to get used to and I didn't really like them at first, but once I got used to it there were no real problems. Just as I did with the first game I ended up beating this one in a one night gaming marathon. These games are very simple and straight forward, which is probably why I get so hooked. I feel like I know its going to be a short game before I'm even a 10th of the way into it. My favorite part in the first game was when you're in the trashed shopping mall with the distorted christmas music playing. Although there weren't any areas in this game that satisfied me as much as that, I did love the brief part where you were in the bowling alley. Seriously, whats scarier than being in a pitch black, deserted bowling alley with nothing but a flashlight? I can't wait to go back through now that I've unlocked FPS mode. That should make getting all the achievements I missed cake. Anyways, get this game!

Yeah. I've been playing Condemned 2 for the past week and a half, I absolutely love it. The single player mode intentionally kept at it's status (being a good story mode game) bringing on a pretty good multiplayer sidekick. I'm honestly just glad that they kept their minds in the story and kept that train of Resident Evil type suspense.

Ya. I work at gamestop and play it behind the counter and eventually beat it then brought it home for myself. I love it!

Hehe. But, videos also did not have very compelling story lines back then either. And I agree with the above. One of the reasons I purchase Condemned, was because it only had single player. It's very rare to find a now only single player game. But, when they do come along now, they tend to be great.

Condemned, BioShock, ect.

I look forward to the new Condemned, I see that it has multi-player now...

Very true, it seems the there are few story driven games that dont happen to be turn based rpg's.
then again, if we consider games of the last few generations, it wasn't much different,
Nobody ever completed space invaders to find out what happened in the end lol

I agree the fact that you were so alone elevated the game to an outstanding fear level. Referring to the lack of online, I am sure they would have implemented online if it hadn't came out so soon after the 360 was released. Quite frankly I am glad it didn't have online. I think alot of games these days are lacking a good story line. It seems there is more emphasis on multi player than generally a good game. I am hoping in Bloodshot they focus on a longer campaign and then after that is done maybe implement some kind of multi player.

I think one of the bits of the game that was scary was that there was no backup coming, practically everyone you met was trying to kill you.

i just loved the combat system so i want to see it implemented in a Vs. style online brawl scenario

i thought it was a reallly good game as well. the problem i did have with it was that it had no online. i think if the sequeal works online play in, even if its just co-op it would be better.

same here. I've actually played it about a year ago, and I didn't really pay attention to the game (since I was too excited about the Xbox 360), so now that I bought it, I really know how the story went, and I will also be looking for the sequel aswell.

I agree, The game was really refreshing for me. I hadn't played a really good single player game in a while.
