Subject: No Mercy Glitch; Need Help

A few days ago i used the Gameshark to unlock a wrestler, and i wanted THAT wrestler to win a championship (on the "Belt" option on exhibition). I won the belt, and saved the game so he can keep it. Then i decided to play the game without the gameshark, but i couldnt access the "belt" option, and i found out that the wrestler i unlocked (with GS codes) isnt there anymore. i knew i couldnt access the belt option because the hidden character still had the belt, but the wrestler is now (again) a hidden character. Now when i use the Gameshark, i CAN access the belt option and can play that wrestler.
When i use the GS and i use a regular (not-secret) wrestler to win title, i take out the GS to see if i can use the "belt" option, and i cant. I DID erase the data by pressing start before the game starts just to use the "belt" option. I lost everything i unlocked, but i still couldnt access the "belt" option. Is there any way i would be able to access the belt option?

I forgot to say, i KNOW that none of the belts are held by any hidden characters, yet i still cant access the "belt" option.

The only thing I can think of, is to legit unlock Andre (Or whoever it was) by playing through Survival mode. This may also unlock the belt option once again if he's still recognised as champion.
