NO...super mario sunshine is much better sm64 had bad graphics and was soooo short:P

Super Mario 64 has my vote. Super Mario Sunshine was more challenging. So that's why I don't play Sunshine anymore.

Super Mario Sunshine had better graphics, music, and a higher difficulty level. However, it lacked variety in its stages and had a crappy reward for getting all of the collectibles.
Nonetheless, getting the shine sprites was really something to be proud about and there was a lot more to do, so it beats Super Mario 64 by a small margin.
