Subject:   jumping to ledge near gargoyle

I have been trying to jump from a 'rope' (electrical cord) to a ledge for quite a while now. I'm playing ALITD-central park version. I can get the cord over the gargoyle, but I cannot seem to get to the ledge on the left. Do I climb further up the rope, climb down, what?????
