It's weird but before an event, I stand directly in front of the enterance that the even is taking place and wait for the very second to run into it when it starts. For example, say the Cooking Festival is occuring on May 22nd at Rose Plaza. Since the festival starts at 10:00 am, I'll probably be standing at the southern enterance of Rose Plaza for about one hour. As soon as the clock strikes 10, I run into the plaza. Yeah...I know, I complete waste of time but I'm sort of used to it. If not that, I'll probably just collect some foraged items laying around.

I walk back and forth and make up a game like where someone dies lol. I am usually waiting by a place that is about to open an hour early cuz one time i was 2 hours late for the cooking fest and i didn't hear what we wear supposed to make

I just tend to my cows/sheep/chickens, horse, and dog, and If that doesn't waste enough time, I just keep whistling for my dog.

I just kind of stand there in front of the place. If you stand there for over 30 minutes game time, the little guy witll lay down and take a nap until you move again. That's what I usually do, and as I'm using an emulator, I just throw on some music and wait a bit.

same here, but i don't use an emulator. i just watch tv or shoot rubber bands at the ceiling.
