It might be on and off, according to this thread. Just try the ctrl+f5 trick or refresh trick and see if that works.

Set it to record "What U Hear", and it should only record internal sounds.

I'm having problems with my laptop speakers. No sound comes out of them. I have tried playing songs and system sounds but nothing works. When I plug in headphones it works fine though. The Windows helppage didn't help much, anyone know what could be the problem?

i didnt know that we could post here if there werent much replies elsewhere..
yeah well anyway.. maybe ur speakers arent detecteed by the laptop (if they arent the ones integrated already)
or they may be damaged. i mean some wrong circuit connection in the speaker can make things go bad... if you can, try taking off the casing and check around the speakers weather everything's alright
