Subject: front mission card game

Hi,
after binging on Front Mission 3 for many days straight, the idea came to me to attempt to create a card game based on Front Mission.
as far as my front mission experience goes, I've played FM1 and FM3
as far as my card-gaming experience, dabbled in Magic and other various card games.
basically I'm just fishing for ideas / game play elements that really define the combat in FM3
