Thanks for the info, just today I replaced the internal battery for my copy of Silver myself. It wouldn't save so I bought myself a new battery. The whole process isn't as hard as it seems. With a bit of pressure, you can easily remove the screw. The only difficult part is removing the old battery from the contacts without breaking them.

Nice walkthough, you saved my gold game! But you don't need to buy that screwdriver, Some sharp narrow tweezers will get the job done.

Is there any other screwdriver that I can use to open it?

Like Twilight said... I couldn't get tweezers to do the job for lack of any that were thin enough without being frail, but with a little effort some needlenose pliers will get the job done.

After you get the bolt out I recommend replacing it with a straight or phillips screw so that you can access the game anytime... not to mention it would be a bitch getting the original bolt BACK in.

Also, just to be certain, since Yellow wasn't listed in the first post, does that mean it uses a standard CR1616 battery? It's definitely smaller than the RBGSC ones, but I just want to be sure before I buy anything.

That would be correct.
