Hmm... I actually did have Finest Hour before I got BF2:MC and played it for a good 1-2 years online. They're significantly different games, though. A few key differences (for online):

- Finest Hour is WWII; BF2 is modern-day.
- Finest Hour's maps are tiny and very linear compared to BF2's maps.
- Finest Hour's main online modes are CTF and TDM; BF2's main modes are Conquest (each team must control flags to drain the other team's "tickets") and CTF.
- Finest Hour has no vehicles; BF2 is VERY vehicle-based.
- Finest Hour doesn't give you the option of creating a permanent account with clan support, stats tracking, friend's list, etc.; BF2 does.
- Finest Hour's online servers are player-created; BF2's servers are dedicated (not created by players but maintained by EA and GameSpy).
- Finest Hour has a negligible amount of glitchers and teamkillers; BF2 is filled with them (as well as laggers and account-hackers).
- Finest Hour only has one weapon for each class (i.e. M1 Garand for U.S. Rifleman); BF2 has "kits" made up of an assortment of 5 weapons or devices for each class.

So, all in all, Finest Hour and Modern Combat are very different games. If you live on the American East Coast, I wouldn't recommend you buying MC (EA recently closed down nearly all of the East Coast servers); however, if you live on the West Coast, you'll still manage to have a good experience online. I recommend browsing YouTube for player-made videos of the online multiplayer for a fairly good understanding of the game's nature and content.

thanks for the reply. i just bought BF2 and returned it the next day. i thought the maps were too big and i didn't enjoy the necessity of vehicles and getting blown up by a tank almost every time.

Yes, BF2 almost split 50/50 in terms of gun combat and vehicle combat. There are people called "[insert vehicle] whores/bums", those who do nothing online but use a particular type of vehicle. Very annoying at times, I know.

welli did not play finest hour on online mode but the story mode was pretty good in battlefield 2 mc the storyline absolutley sucks! online it is awsome for me. although there are a lot of skilled players u start 2 get better but on story mode they all are stupid they don't even take cover they just run into enemy fir so i guess if u love online gameplay through and through u could try the game ( which u already did lol!)
