You can try using compatability mode, that seems to make most games work under XP.

My PC is XP, and I can play Driver1 great.
there must be a scratch or something on the disc

Whats your problem in detail? Yesterday, it seemed I can only play it with joystick, and the keyboard was running wild. Later I discovered there was still a second Driver running in the background, set to joystick control, and it may have confused something - I haven't checked since I've installed the US patch to increase the steering range, now I'm well with the joystick.

Driver runs fine. But it runs at triple speed. Everything runs as if in light speed. You try to drive and stepping on the gas goes from 0-60 in a quarter second. As well as everything else. Traffic flys by at 90mph! It's obviously a clock speed problem. I'm running a DMI motherboard with an AMD 3400+ processor. Any ideas on how to slow it down to normal?

on my computer it works fine. but on laptop it runs pretty slow but it works for me and should work for you
