Subject: Jak & Keira age difference

I was playing Jak 2 and looking at little Jak, he looked like he was maybe two or three years old. I go to play Jak X and look at the ages between him and Keira. Accordingly, Keira is one year young than Jak. So, how in the world could this be, unless Jak was less than one, which doesn't explain how his younger self could walk and be that tall. I mean, did Samos marry Keira's mother and Keira was already born, making her his adopted daughter, or did he drop Young Jak off in another time and went back further? I just want to know if anyone thought of this too.
Also, when I bought the game, the sales guy told me I needed the thin PS2 to play it on. I can play it on my old system. Go fig.
