The ARK.
Hmm, In the Bible, Noah Escapes the flood Through the ark.
In Halo 3, John Escapes the flood using the ark.

In the Halo trilogy, the Forerunners escaped the Flood via the Ark. Wait, that's not what happened; the Forerunners killed themselves to stop the Flood via the Halo rings, which were created by the Ark. While the names are certainly ironic, the game in no way advertises Christianity. In fact, God is never mentioned outside of the context of "Oh my God."

It's not advertising Christianity just because part of the story can be related to or is somewhat based off a religious belief...

Its actually a monk hymn, that doesn't mean christianity.
thats besides the point, alot of games/movies/shows/anime/books have biblical themes such as this. It doesnt mean they are trying to convert you, it sounds good, most can relate to its importance, and the Bible is the best selling book of the world, it must help rake in some extra cash[/sarcasm]

Yes, it promotes Creligion by having a religious race of zealots bent on destroying the universe with their misguided and wrong beliefs. They obviously get some of their ideas from biblical literature but so what? That isn't promotion, that's influence.

You can't really call it out on that nowadays. Many movies and games like Halo are littered with Biblical references, if only small hints.
And plus, Noah and the Ark is the Old Testament. It could very well have been advertising Judaism.

If anything this game basically goes against christianity. Sure its full of biblical references such as the ark and escaping the flood by using it, or the ark of the covenant, and the prophets. But if you actually pay attention, the Covenant represent religious people and are the villains, and the humans represent intelligence and a lack of religion and are the hero's. Arbiter becoming a good guy was symbolic of him becoming aware of what was happening in the world around him (becoming aware that the Halo rings were going to destroy everything) and as a result he became distanced from religion. Overall the game is supposed to symbolize man becoming more focused on knowledge and learning and less reliant on religion to explain what happens in the world. Personally I don't agree with this message but thats what the message is like it or not.
