I know -- everyone's asked. But I'm curious: after looking around, some places seem to subtly infer that I need 30,000 Trainer Points or more before either of these dog-unlocking items can be found during a walk. Is this true?

No, it's not true. You can have any number of trainer points and still find the Fireman's Hat and Jack Russel Book because it's random when you find them. The Lucky Collar and Clover Clock kind of helps you find them.

Can u have the dalmation AND the jack russel because i have the dalmation but i can't find the jack russle book? i put the lucky coller on my dog and my clock is the clover clock but still i just seem to get 'sticks'.

Yes, you can get both. Just because your dog is wearing the Lucky Collar and you have the Clover Clock up doesn't mean you're going to find the Jack Russel Book right away. Just keep taking your dog on walks and you'll find it sooner or later.

Do your dogs have to have long walks??? I am despretley after Jack Russels, I've got Dalmation cuz I have the game.
I have the Clover clock, knit hat and lucky collar but can't find the book!!!

Yeah, you need the points to get the book b/c if you find the book then you unlock the dog and so if you have more points then you unlock more things.
