how do u actually do the special moves?? i have lost the control book and can't work it out!? Help me!

Let me know if you find how to do special moves ()I have tried every move I can including, holding down L button and pressing A, double tapping A.
I can get the fast serve by simply holding control stick towards the opponent and tapping A.
Its probably something easy. But damn hard trying to look for it.
