Subject: The WiiFit Balance Board
-------------------------------------------
Does Nintendo have any plans to use the balance board in other applications? I know that when WiiFit comes out, it obviously will use that, the board will be used for "We Ski" and a Nintendo rep said that it would be used for the new Wii Tony Hawk game. However, I thought that the board would be incredible if it could plug into other games.
If any of you have played
Police 911, you know how cool it is to move and have the game detect your movement and translate it into character ducking/dodging. What if the balance board was used in such a shooter game where you had to put weight on either side of your body to duck behind cover (ala Time Crisis dodging)?
What if WiiFit could detect your played time in these games and translate it into your exercise chart ("You burned 150 calories playing Police 911 yesterday")?

A shooter the way you describes sounds awesome. I haven't heard anything about it yet, though.

I can't remember if it was in Nintendo Power or online that I read it, probably online, but I remember that Activision was thinking about using the balance board for a future Tony Hawk game. They said it would change the control scheme greatly, so they weren't sure how it might work, but it would still be something they were thinking about.
