Are Batman and Superman Marvel superheroes because they aren't in the game if they are Marvel and if they aren't then they should be Marvel because they're superheroes and what superhero isn't made by marvel?

dear lord. Supes and Batman are DC characters. there are lots of super heroes not made by marvel. besides DC, Image, Darkhorse, Top Cow and several other companies make comics and have superheroes.

if you want to play Superman and Batman, try the new Justice League game. its similar to this one, only DC heroes.

i love marvel just as much as anyone else...but you have to realize greatness in other comics. they have been around just as long, a comic book doesnt mean it has to be a super hero. so there no reason to be biased about this.

And another little thing...DC came first.

The best games are really the Marvel vs DC ones, they have characters from both sides in one game, and then it has to be good.

How exactly does DC being older make then better. I have been reading comics for more than 20 years, and never once have I said " Wow!!!! this comic is great cause DC is so old."
If I was going to decide which i think is better then I would go with the quality of the comic's story and the number of active titles that I read from each company. I currently read 5 DC titles. I also currently read 10 Marvel titles. this is not counting limited series or special issues.
I enjoy my Marvel titles enough to make me go out of the way to get them. There is only 2 DC titles I will do this for. Guess that means I like Marvel more.
I also want to point out that this debate can't be one. It's a matter of opinion on which is better. Some folks like Dc some like Marvel. No point in trying to argue over something where no one is wrong or right.

I lean more towards DC than Marvel, but I love the hell out of both of them. I also love the fanboy debates over which is better because typically what I've noticed for years are those Marvel fans who are the most rabid concerning DC's inferiority are really just X-Men fans who know complete frack-all about anything Marvel which doesn't involve an X or a mutant.

As for DC being the oldest... not so. Someone needs to check up on his history. Here's some keywords to search... Yellow Kid, Famous Funnies, Funnies on Parade.

Besides, do you even know who's involved with either?

As for DC is better due to age... yeah, four years accounts for a lot. DC started up in 1935 (they were known as National Periodical Publications at the time). Marvel started up in 1939 and was known as Timely at the time.

Really, wouldn't this be better in the Comics forum? I would provide a link, but seeing as how I have one below my name and one in my signature...

Wow, you totally ballmed the hell out of this argument didn'tcha bud? Like when some one lays down an awesome one liner and no one knows what to say... Kudos!

anyway here's my two-cents (not that I have cents, being British)

I find it really tough to call between the two, i used to consider Marvel to be the more light-hearted, linear but lovable comic makers (spidey for example) and DC to be the much darker alternative (EG Bat-Man) But that's clearly not the case anymore. Personally I think my preference is Marvel, by something like half an inch devided by 3...

It would take a wholy inappropriate ammount of time and space to argue every point of comparison and thusly I shall randomly pluck one from the air... 3,2,1.. CROSSOVER STORY-LINES! woot

I think Marvel are good at cross-over story-lines, with characters constantly running into each other on a VERY regular basis, I like this a lot as it makes the universe feel very much alive however it does tend to get a bit messy. With a company that churns out covers like they do, it must be very hard to keep track of and ultimately there is a considerable ammount of continuity "errors".

DC on the other hand are a tad more epic, their cross over story lines are few and farther apart but it's always worth the wait. And they certainly know how to even the odds too, because in those "Superman V Batman" fights it seems pretty obvious, to me at least, that no human skull (no matter how dark and tormented the individual) was designed to withstand the trauma of a insanely strong (albeit non existant) alien being slamming it's fist into it at "way too fast" with "way too much" pressure. But throwing in something like clenching a chunk of Kyptonite or coating ur knuckleds makes thigns a little less one-sided.

however the lack of interaction between the heroes builds a very think wall in tmie and when another hero turns up, it seems very much like an intrusion and the hero in question doesn't always fit in.

I'm too knackered to summarise so paruse if you wish, and take what you will.

P.S. I've never even read a comic I just play a lot of games n watch a shit load of movies.

Holy...crap! So many thing to quote from this thread that could stay in a person's signature for a year or more.

The new justice league game... I can't love it. I find a lot of the DC characters to be too, lacking that something. I dunno. I think the marvel universe just ties each comic/character into others a bit better than DC. But then again, I don't keep up with DC either. Can't truly speak for it. Both companies have their crap characters, and even their more popular comics have all had the drawn out horrendous arc, where either a new writer/artist steps in and decided to muck things up with retcons and whatnot. Heck, look what they did with Iron Man/Tony Stark. Almost as bad as the cluster frack they pulled on Psylocke.
