Subject: What the hell they have a ring finger and Altiar dose not??

ok i get the fack that when you join the ummm what i want to say is assassins cult (correct me if im wrong) that they cut off your ring finger so that you can use your hidden blade with ease but what i dont get is all of the other people in the game that are assassins arent missing there ring finger please answer my Question??

Could be that some in the clan are not suppose to assassinate the same way as Altair. I guess there's certain assassin's that are capable to getting their index finger cut off. Others have certain task to do. :/

oh i guess your idea fits cus all of the imformant have a different attire and different methods so i guess altair is just *bleep*ing awesome haha:D

Kinda nasty really. When Altair stabs someone with the blade, it gets blood on it, then goes back inside of his finger. Nice way to get Aids.

umm acually if you look at it the right way his hidden blade is connected to his wrist in a holster it dosent acually come out of his finger his finger is cut off just so he can have a closed fist whenever he gets it out if you know what i mean

I think they just got too lazy to program them with a finger off. In the start of the game I'm pretty sure Mallick is missing his ring finger. Not positive, but pretty sure. So they did some work on him.

maybe all the assassins in Masyaf are in training still, and haven't made the pledge to become a full assassin yet. That might explain why they're just standing around whenever you're there. Perhaps the "real" assassins like Altair are all off killing ppl somewhere anytime you visit Masyaf.

The hidden blade is something that is given to a master assassin, and obviously not all of the other members are masters. I guess he was just allowed to use it on his way back up through the ranks?

Yeah, best of the best get it.
It's in his arm either just attached to his guard, hence after you get demoted and lose everything including the hidden blade, so they ain't exactly gonna cut it out then put it back in

Yeah, I said it somewhere else, Jade said that when you make a trip from Novice to a 'pro assassin' you have this horrible experiance where they cut off your thumb and install the hidden blade.
But only the best assassins get them, and as you can see (the assassins standing around, and guarding the fortress arent going to be trusted with assassinating anyone).

its the ring finger, not the thumb.
and those guards standing around are just novice assassins that already have decent sword fighting skills, and their job is to be a guard for a while until their training continues and they can be trusted to handle an assassination, probably starting with one of little significance. not a really important one like Altair gets, assassinating key members of the Templar order.

You guys have very good eyes. I didnt even know Altiar was missing a finger till I read this thread and has a closer look at his hand...
