Subject: Assassin's Creed Missing Finger *Spoilers!!!*
-------------------------------------------
Did anybody notice that on the cover of the game disc, Altair's ring finger on his left hand is missing, and while I know that the blade is in the way, it's just interesting. Plus towards the end when you are talking to Lucy, you automatically First-Person on her hand...she's hiding her ring finger...I have to assume she's part of the Assassin's and that Altair has had some profound influence, although we'll never know, cause that has to be the worst ending of a game I've ever seen, later.

Yes, he is missing a finger. You can see this when you pan the camera too.

I think that finger is cut off....to show their dedication to the cause...and not to a spouse or partner

It'sn an initiation process that moves him to master assassin.
And it's a handy way to hide his blade without cutting off the finger anyway.
And yes, Luct bends her finger down to show that she is an Assassin, or at least working on Desmond's side.

Lucy is working with the assassins, you can clearly see that in Lucy's emails. In the end of the game, she still considers working with Desmond in order to keep him alive.

Yeah, Altair's finger is cut off as part of the initiation process/a way of disguising his hidden blade.
Lucy may be part of the Assassins but I never realized about the finger thing
.
AC's ending had to be the most frustrating ending since God of War II....

How the *bleep*ing *bleep* does having no left ring finger help conceal a hidden blade? WTH are you guys on about?
And when did Lucy do anything with her finger? All I remember was that ass hole getting a call and her talking him out of killing Desmond. Then they went off and I looked at the magical symbols on the wall. Then the credits rolled and I couldn't figure out WTH to do.

Hold a knife/pencil/stick/etc. on your palm as if it were the hidden blade. Keep your wrist straight and bend your finger down. If you can't figure it out from there I don't think I can help you.

It's before that stuff, but after the part where Vidic lets them hear the machine guns over the intercom. She stands near the end of the Animus while Desmond is ranting about how all hope is lost (in general). She bends her finger down and tells him to "have faith."

You guys gotta think laterally, while you literally cannot disguise something with another thing that you don't have, on the same token, having no ring finger makes it much easier to handle the "Hidden Blade", whether or not Altair cut his finger off to utilize the blade or if it was just a lucky coincedence, I don't know. Also about the Lucy think, it's before the very end of the game, but during the part that "Anduin" specified, if you are standing in front of her I think you automatically First Person on her left hand.

Think about it, he could not have one finger cut off just because hes an assassin, otherwise all the other assassins would and people would know hes an assassin.

how often do you look at peoples hands? +assassins lay low, odds are by the time you notice them you'd be dead anyway.

Darn right! Is all this going to be answered when the next game comes out? They would have been better off pushing the game back a few months to finish off the storyline, frankly, lately most games I've played have had stupid endings like this, think about it, I won't list the games, people wig out about spoilers. But about the finger thing, after replaying the game again, I didn't notice Al Mualim or anybody else (Malik is missing an arm...), basically what I'm trying to say is that we wouldn't be having this conversation if game companies wouldn't try to suck money out of us.
