Bought this game today got most characters leveld up a bit, my highest Mr Dun with level 10, started Musou Mode with him and also unlocked Taschi Ci and Zhang Jiao.

You will find that Xiahou Dun is actually a very bad character in this game, so if you liked Dun, you will love the rest of the game.

Dun was my favorite from Wei in DW3-5, but he just...sucks if i do say so myself in DW6.

(I'll try and make this short and give other details another time )

Okay, got the game yestaday, played it for about eight hours straight (I had, like five tests that day and still had to work, so it was the equivalent of a nice hot bath after having the crap beaten out of you, or a good hard... fun time after a long day at work)

It has to be said, it's *bleep*ing sweet!

The new things (like the Renbu, tomes, grappling) just make the game excellent. One thing that annoys me though is the major difference in power. You'll fight about ten NPC's and kill them all, only losing less than half of your health, than you get to Guan Yu and in five hits you're dead

They should either make NPC's powerful and have bosses uber powerful, or make NPC's normally powerful and have bosses powerful, with high health and boosts when they're nearing death. Still, just IMO anyway.

Onto actual gameplay... wow. The graphics, as a lot of people have said, completely fail when compared to games like Assasins Creed or Heavenly Sword, but this does not change the fact that it is excellent playing the game with the level of graphics it's at!

Characters, some have changed for the better, some for the worse. Dian Wei, although not as good as his former, axe-wielding psychotic self, is still a beast. There's a little less floor smashing than what would be expected, but that's mainly because the wrecking ball (I refuse to call it a flail due to it's enormus size) will be smashing into peoples faces. Some may argue he's slow and they'd be right... that is of course until you give him his skill weapon (the weaker, faster one) with which he is unstoppable.

I was playing Chang Ban with him and one of the targets is to kill Zhang Fei (easiest way is to run around the side and meet him before goes Super Saiyan) obviously, I didn't know that so he had his whole fit at the bridge and I was fighting him and with the skill weapon equipped I was untouchable. After using his power weapon for the most part of his musou mode, I was like

Of course I did the T grab and threw him off the bridge (which looked sweet) but of course I forgot about him and when I caught up to Liu Bei Zhang Fei had come out of the water and did his S grab, killing me shamefully

Still, on my second run of the level I fought Zhao Yun in a forest type part of it... it looked amazing. It was like a kung fu movie. I hade just killed and Zhuge Liang and all of his troops and than Zhao Yun rided in and we fought alone in the forest, and of course it ended beautifully as well, with the S grab finishing him off

Still, Dian Wei is a beast, but like before if you don't know how to use him you'll think he's whack. Also, his power move when at infinite renbu is excellent. I was completely surrounded in a base, I had to kill about four hundred people to take it (well... it was Yuan Shao's main camp ) I just spammed his T and within five uses of it the base was mine.

Anyway, I've been on Dian Wei for too long. As much as it pains me to say this (and it does) the best moveset (I've seen so far) belongs to Lu Xun. It's just excellent.

So far I've unlocked Taishi Ci (the first thing I did when I realised I could straight away ) who's moveset (not unlike his weapon) reminds me of Tadakatsu. Also, Yuan Shao, Zhang Jiao, Xu Huang and Zhang Liao. Captain badass has upped his game with his weapon. I've only tried it on rampage, but it was awesome. Also, I don't know about in game clones, but (like Taishi Ci and Tadakatsu) Xu Huangs moveset is a lot like Keiji Maeda (He even swings his scythe (if that's what it is... it looks like that anyway) 'round his head, exactly like Keiji)

Still, my next targets are Gan Ning and Zhuge Liang (which I don't really want to do because I'm not a huge fan of the three tiger generals who are the starters TBH)

My favorite level (so far) is Fan Castle because when the waters raised and there are loads of enemies around they just begin to try and swim to safety, so you can just merrily swim around on your horse beating the crap out of 'em and they can't do jack

Also, the tomes and skill tree are great additions, but I can't help but feel like Koei felt bias when making the tree's. I mean, Lu Xun has his third and infinite renbu skills not too far away from a starting point, and next to that path you've got his pouch, bag and tome skill (whatever it's called, where tomes appear more fequently and you get 'em after 300 KO's). So, by the time Lu Xun's around level seventeen he can have infinite Renbu and he can carry three tomes and they'll appear every couple of seconds. Whereas with someone like Taishi Ci, by level seventeen, you'll have infinite Renbu and than need to start a new path to get to pouch

Anyway, in conclusion, yes there are downsides and whatnot (which aren't for this thread) but all in all, it's a magnificent game so people, at least give it a rental or borrow it off a friend before deciding not to get it.

End of transmission.

Okay I finally got this game last night, so I'm just gonna' post my thoughts (hey, this is what it's for):

I think Musou attacks have really become a lot better. I mean, Zhao Yun's Musou in DW5 was horrible, just spinning round. But I love that lil' clear thing he does at the end.

Also, I love the new combos, and the horse feature. Rather than just having a harness, full stop, you have a horse that can be upgraded and actually help you!

However, I really think Lu Bu is way too powerful. I started playing Musou Mode with Zhao Yun, and he whooped me. So I got up to around level 9, and his charge attack again killed me. He is just too powerful... no wonder the made Zuo Ci to exceed his power.

Well yeah, that's about it.

Just don't get hit by him and he's not too tough. It takes awhile to kill him because of his defense. When he's about to attack, you'll notice and just roll away.

I'm disappointed that he's the only person to put up a fight by himself. The others only get challenging in groups if you have a weak character/no 3rd/maxed renbu.Certain officers get higher defense in certain stages but they still aren't much stronger and still die very easily.

I finally got around to getting Lu Bu yesterday.Must say he was so much better before.Still don't like the way he looks as much as past games and I don't really like his new weapon/attacks.Least his musou mode is fun, plenty to kill.

Well I'm glad someone agrees with me.
My friend is one of those people that thinks anything looks "cool" just 'cos it kinda does, even though it doesn't actually suit them.
Nothing beats Lu Bu's old Sky Dragon.

(About the cool thing, I mean things like on Devil May Cry 4, he thinks Dante's gauntlets look cool 'cos they have multi-chaning-coloured light flowing through them)

I personally dont really like anyone from Wei except Xu Huang and Zhang Liao. but I do realize people prefer different types of play.

I found Gan Ning to be almost invincible throughout his musou mode, he is quick and it seems I went the right way in the skill tree and his attacks were as strong as anyone in the game. His voice is 'iffy' sometimes though. Of course, once you get maxed Renbu, anyone is almost invincible

Hi everyone,

I got the game on Friday, I didn't inform myself before buying, and I'm a little bit disappointed.
The reason is, that I always enjoyed running through each Level to get new weapons and Objects and I sadly realized that Characters, who don't have a Musou mode also don't have different weapons, means all three weapons look the same and I also realized that there aren't any objects to obtain, too bad.
Another bad taste is left by the fact that those alternative Outfits just change their colors as well as the Horses do.
But the worse taste left the musou mode or rather the fact that there are only 17 chars that have one.
And only 19 Levels? Come on, you must be kidding.
The only good thing I have too say that the graphics and animations are great.
I think it's definitly not cool too ask for so much money and give us so little innovation.

Compare:
DW5 49,99€ - 48 Chars/38 Levels/48 Stories/192 weapons
DW6 64,99€ - 41 Chars/19 Levels/17 Stories/ 51 weapons

I think it's way too less content for the money.

In my opinion, one of the worst DW ever, and I've played every DW including X-treme Legends and Empires.

I think I'm addicted to DW, cause even if it's one of the worst, I have to play it.

So greetings to all
Highjacker1983

Not the worst DW because Koei is finally taking steps to really "improve" the DW series. I am disappointed with less (even though there are less maps, they are bigger) everything, but this game brings so much more to the table than previous Dynasty Warriors games.

But im the same way, Ill buy it and play if it has Dynasty Warriors or Samurai Warriors in the title.

I've just got the game today and thought almost everything was superb. Only downside is 19 levels for me and the fact that it's easy to die. Should I go into the musou modes with or without training first?

A few levels on free mode helps get ur character lvled up, Wei's musou is almost impossible without some experiance.

Ok, "ShadowGuard" maybe not one of the worst DW ever, but one of the most incomplete.

What I mean is that when I pay 65€ for one game, I think could expect a little bit more.
And those things I mentioned really aren't that much work do do, like give different weapons different looks, same goes for the horses.
Another thing is the balance of the game, you can kill enemy officers by just "touching" them, and on the other side when you are in the middle of a combo, enemy SOLDIERS can easily hit you and you fly away like some horse kicked you in the back. (Where's the relation?)
Let's not talk about the Musou mode, where you rush from one to the next mission without gettin' closer to your character, but that may be just my opinion.

These minor issues, except the last one, could have been extincted if they had just spent another month of work, you understand?

For me it seems like the game is at the state of a, let's say, a little bit further developed beta version.

DW6 I think its amazing! but has its downfalls..

At first the whole camera angle thing PISSED ME OFF!!
Now I think it was a clever idea.
SWIMMING! COOOOOOLLLLLLL!
the annoying thing is jumping into the water and not finding a way back out of it for 5-10mins ><!
Destroying gates YAY FUN FUN FUN FUN!
The grapple moves haha that was a good thing to put in.
How the other officers around the battlefield are is amazing!
How they call theirs horse like we do, they climb ladders, use the dodge button (tht gets annoying sometimes) yeah, its well done.
The renbu system I like!
The characters they took out and the weapons they changed pissed me off like, Xiahou Dun's new weapon.. WTF i liked his old one.
Why have only ONE of the two Quio's!?!?!?!?!
Dian Wei... =|||||||||| whoaaa!
Cao Ren looks like a lil tin man hah!
Wei Yan's weapon no no,
Zhang Liao's new weapons are odd and i prefer his old ones.
And I always love that feeling you get when you THINK your strong enough to take on LU BU for the first time and end up getting owned!... is that just me?

I know ive only played DW6 for a couple of days but I just cant wait for DW7 to come out =/
Yeah, theres my thoughts!
