Subject: Team Building Help.

I'm in the early stages of the game (about to go into Rock Tunel) and was thinking about which Pokemon would be worth catching now so I can train them through the game. Is it really worth having the 3 starter Pokemon or should I go with different choises. What are your thoughts?

that is good if they are already enough and all of them can use all the tm's needed...

I would go for Pikachu, Catapie, Geodude, Bellsprout, Pidgey and Nidoran to start off with and level them up so they evolve. Ive completed the game but am still using Pikachu, Gravler (evolved from geodude), Nidoqueen (evolved from nidoran and Victrebell (evolved from bellsprout)

Wtf? Caterpie? Pidgey? I want Pokemon that will acctualy help me in this game.

At the point you are at I would have a sandshrew, mankey, pikachu, kmaybe a pidgey or ratata but i wouldnt keep them long.

Look, I want Pokemon I can raise from an early point in the game so that I can have a well raised team at the E4.
I just wanted to know if the 3 starter Pokemon are worth it or should I go with other Pokemon?

the three starters are very well balanced for grass fire water types.

Ok well I've already progressed a fair bit into the game and currently have:
Pikachu
Wartortle
Charmeleon
Ivysaur
Gravler
Haunter

Good team, but if you can't trade or cheat you won't be able to evolve Haunter and Graveller to their final forms.
