#Wow is located on irc.pwnsu.com, the network used for the main Neoseeker channel. There are several ways to connect. I recommend using either mIRC or the Web Client.

The channel has a very lighthearted atmosphere but everything said will be moderated. The following are consequences for misbehavior in the IRC chat:
Report Abuse
Is someone breaking any rules, and going unnoticed? You can either reply to this thread or PM one of this forum's moderators. Include the time of the abuse, and a brief explanation of what they did. Now I understand this forum at the moment does not have a moderator, but you can report it to Kjgmusic, or myself and the issue can be dealt with.

This program is a great way for members to get together to chat in real time, and is fairly easy for us to communicate while we play the game, even though most of us are on different servers.
Registration
To register your user name on the IRC, and I highly suggest you do, you will need to type in the following command.
/nickserv register password email
Everytime you join after that point, you will need to identify with the following code.
/identify password
#Wow has now been added to the drop down menu on the web client so it is easier to connect. =]
I asked Kjgmusic for permission to "advertise" this, and he approved it.

IRC is Internet Chat Relay, think of it as a network of chat rooms. Neoseeker has had a general room on the server for years, and other forums on Neoseeker have created their own rooms as well.
It is just a way for the members to chat freely, and get to know one another. Perhaps even help each other out with info, in a real time setting.

No need to download anything if you do not wish to. We have a web client set up and it runs directly off your browser.
If you do join, understand that not many people have connected yet, and there would be times when it is slow.
To choose an initial room at the moment, you can choose #Neoseeker and then use the method I mentioned above to connect to the Wow channel, by typing /join #Wow.
Angy edit: Dyna has set it up so you can choose #Wow as one of the channels when you connect

The bad thing about IRC is that its going to have bots spamming advertisments for gold sellers.

Not this server its empty as hell on the #Wow channel. All the other Neoseeker channels are very closely watched and moderated. Also if you spam more than 3 lines of the same text you are kicked.

The IRC server is a private one owned by me, and used by quite a few other forums on Neo for their channels as well. We do have blacklist blocks on the server, as well as other security measures. In the 3 years or so we have had the IRC up and running, we have only had one person on there trying to sell gold, and that was for Runescape. Being online at the time it occurred, the person was promptly glines ((Server banned)) and other precautions were set up.

I didn't even know we had one of these for WoW. I always hang out in the General IRC.
