Yeah, I think the better your luck, the better chance you have of enemies dropping good items.

In ff games luck usualy affects everything slightly.
it probably effect Critical hit chance, chance to hit, chance to dodge, chance to block, chance to find items, chance to avoid status affects, etc.
Luck is the most important attribute in any ff game.
