I agree, if you have a friend and are a fan of the 3rd person shooter, you will enjoy this game. I only wish you could carry at least 4 weapons and system link (system link with split screen inferno doesn't stand a chance). If you can't get a friend to play with you, I don't see you getting very far in later levels on hard or even normal.

This game is great for the cost, $40 new, I mean you can't beat it. The game does have some flaws: bad voice acting, complete lack of a plot, horrible physics, and the camera can freak out on you at times.
Its easy to play, but there are points where there are some challenges, and if you don't have the right weapon, you gotta go back and restart.
The only thing this game is missing, is Live Co-Op play.
Most defiantly at rental at the least, but chances are you're going to end up buying it.

i would also have to add that you cant roll over tiny walls, rolling sideways is one of the best ways to avoid fire and it really hacks me off when im rolling for cover from the mothership behind a building, when i get stopped by a 30cm wall and get shot to pieces by the motherships many many lazers that fire green and purple flying things.

I don't know if this game is worth buying but i rented it, and beat campaign on normal mode but didn't have time to beat on any other diffuclty but it might be worth buying.
This was certainly some of the most fun i've had in a third person shooter in a long time.

I think the game is pretty fun in certain ways, but not worth any more than twenty bucks. The storyline is completely lifeless, and the entire game is extremely repetitive. I mean c'mon... every level is virtually the same--kill giant aliens attacking the city. That kind of job is not for the Earth Defense Force. It's more suited for Godzilla.
Oh, and don't even get me started on the HORRIBLE graphics, physics, and voice acting.
