I have played all of the DW games since DW3 and also SW2, so why the hell am I getting munched by Orochi in story 8 Shu when I have a level 77 Jiang Wei, 48 Zhao Yun and 34 Wei Yan. Zhuge Liang dies at the end no matter what I do!!! Is there a foolproof way of beating him? his charge attack always kills all the officers near him. It's beginning to annoy me.....

Hmm, try to get to him before Zhuge Liang does and make sure to have someone to clear him away from everyone else. Don't kill any of his troops near him either, that will distract the other officers while you wipe the floor with Orochi.

keep your distance and use specials a lot. Thats my option on orochi, you can't beat him with weaponary.

it's the first one that's ever posed me any problems at all...I dunno if it's just cos it's a slightly different system or just cos they decided to make Orochi stupidly powerful. I had no trouble at all until i got to him!

He's just very powerful. Just tell what I did, and stay away from him. Especially when he performs his charge attack. Clear some peons while you're at it, they can be quite annoying when you want to run away.

Funny....all I had to do was a ST with Jiang wei and then let him hit the floor, run away, the back up to him and repeat...helped that a peon dropped an attack x2. I ran south and killed everyone as quickly as I could and i was stood in front or orochi when he appeared. He barely touched me and there was no one else there...beat the level in 10 minutes 30! Couple of allied generals died cos they set Lu Bu on them while I was killing everyone else.

Take a Power type officer, make sure he's got Flame attribute on his weapon.
All you need is to do ST and let NPCs juggle him, the fire should do a good amount of damage. Just make sure he's trying to hit you instead of your commander.
You can do it with just about anyone, but the hyper armor from Power should make it easier.
You can always start a combo a bit away from him so he runs right into your charge attacks =P

Orochi is real strong and has a long life bar.
Use Wei Yan's cheapness to your advantage: Lure Orochi to the corner and then air dash behind. Press R1 to belch a fireball and then repeat. If you time them right, you can keep him at bay and drain some life down so your power character can build up some strength to wail on him.
First time I beat Orochi was in the Wei story with Zhang Liao, Dian Wei and Xiahou Dun, with Dian Wei's devastating S-S-R1 attack doing most of the work.

Freezing, fire and air are the way i do it now. If you get a character with a decent ST, you can deal massive damage and usually hit him before he can get you, then juggle until he does a charge attack. killed him first time on the wei campaign, so i think i've got it now!

I dont understand, how can you not defeat Orochi on easy? I mean, his attacks do so little damage, especially considering none of my characters were over the 50s. Your generals should also be constantly swarming at him, making him near impossible to win.

What the hell is all this talk about running away. Intermin Save before you go in, so just in case Sun jian or whoever decides to bite the dust, you can restart.
Bring a good generals killer with Ice and it should really be no problem at all, especially on easy, lol.
