I basicly use Ice all the time though. I have a huge hate for Flame and I only use bolt for some guys.

I always plan what to put there so that I don't miss out on growth points. for example Nobunaga:Giving him bolt is of little use, give him fire and air and you'll have it covered. Also range, agility, brave and slay is quite usefull. Bunshins have little effect, but is addded as spice, the last slot is used for Might
It's not good equiping all characters with the same elements. For example the SW with a STTT that leads the enemy up in the air before smashing them down again with thunder is of little use. Also using Air in DW characters

Oh so you're doing it like me having 2 weapons with different stats on .Heres my Kunoichi daggers, just to list it:
Number one: (Used when she's supposed to be the main tank on chaos, wich she mostly are)
Ice - Does incredible damage, if you complete with her combos
Bolt - Nullifies STTT, gives her SSTTT am incredible range
Slay - Goes well with the bolt effect
Brave - yeah...
Range - turns musou into a death trap
Multi - her combos (TTT, SSTTT, SSSTTT)
Agility - She turns into a ninja again
Rage - mhm...
Number two: (Used when she's the reserve or run around on chaos)
Flame - Her SSTTT and STTT is quite effective with this
Flash - Gives her a quite good stand
Slay - hmmm... In this case works good in her STTT
Absorb - Musou stealing
Air - Her STTT again
Multi - same as the number one. STTT
Agility -same
Might - mhm
As you can see, the second is mostly based on taking down officers then the first, wich is for heavy crowds. (You must try the first one out when shes in lvl 99 with everything maxed out, her SSTTT does wonders)

Together with Kunoichi (General killer/crowd clearer) I use Wei Yan and Ma Chao.
Wei Yan is mostly given the same as Kunoichis number one. exept that he has fire instead of ice. He is used in quick battle and group of generals, still working on his second though.
Ma Chao is my move around, his elements are:
Thunder - astonishing with his moveset
Multi - A must, gives a extra bonus on his SSST and SSSST
Agility - Quicker slashes
Fire - His SSST, even with thunder, sends the enemy flying so.
Slay - standard
Brave - hah!
Might - yes
Range - Check out the moves
