I would it would be obvious you could play as other people, seeing as on the adverts you can see the female playing as Peach.
Anyways, what fun would the game be with only two available characters to play as.
Anyway, chances are you can unlock players as well.

by the way it's 'match up'. but anyway you can play as Knuckles, Bowser, Vector, Wario, Mario, Amy, Luigi, Blaze, Sonic, Daisy, Shadow, Yoshi, Peach, Tails, Waluigi, Dr Eggman. you can't unlock any players but it would be cool if you could play as Toad or someone like that. but oh well, the players are good anyway.
