Subject: Madden NFL 09

It might be a bit early to be thinking about it, but what improvements do you think they will have for Madden 09, and who do you think will be on the cover?
For starters, I would like them to fix the turnovers problem. In '08, when I had my PS2, I always threw for at least two interceptions and had at least one fumble per game. It got annoying after awhile.
Another thing I would like is a more advanced Franchise mode. It seems like they haven't done too much to change it over the past few years. I'd like to see it go more in-depth, especially during the offseason when it comes time for the draft.
Last year, Vince Young was unexpectingly chosen for the cover. Ladanian Tomlinson was the first choose, but he turned down the offer. I think this year Osi Umenyiora may make the cover. Or maybe someone from the Patriots. For some reason I don't see a quarterback on it this year, like Eli or Brady.

Hmm.... not sure as for the cover.
As for game play, I definitely think they should fix turnover problems. Guys like Tom Brady shouldn't throw 4 interceptions against a pathetic team, and rookies shouldn't be throwing 6 touchdowns against the patriots. It just seems like causing interceptions is to easy, and when I'm on offense turning over the ball happens to much. They need to get it right in the middle where not to many happen in a game.

I just thought of something else. A theater feature, like in Halo 3. So many amazing things happen in a game, and it would be nice to be able to record videos or even take pictures right from a game, share them with friends, and even put them online, just like in Halo 3.

I would also love to see that. Especially in Hall of Fame mode...You could make any recordings you want of any epic plays you make and then at the end of the game mode if you make it into the hall of fame you could edit it and make a video showing your career.
Speaking of Hall of Fame mode I think they should improve it. It's the same exact thing in both 07 and 08.

Nice. Do you know if the 360 version of NCAA 08 has that feature too? If it does, I'll buy it. If anything, I was planning on getting NCAA 07, so I could import a draft class to my Madden 07 franchise.

i'd assume it does since diff consoles don't really have diff features. they're pretty much the same game

Take out HoF mode, or incorporate it as an option if you want as part of Franchise mode.
Make it so you can pick what year you start in, like say witht he advent of Free agency in 92ish or 93. And from then on have the draft classes be corresponding to actual draft class years.
So if i started a 49ers franchise in 93..I would have George Seifert as the coach and still be playing at Candlestick..I know Monster Park is Candlestick techincally.
Update your old properties EA!!! incorporate them into the game.

Wow. Just realized this will be the 20th year for the Madden NFL franchise. Hopefully they'll do something big for it, so '09 doesn't seem like '08, but with an updated roster and minor features.
Edit: Also it seems like they're counting down to Madden 09 on the official website. They've gone from '89 to 2003 so far, with all of the cover guys on it. Just a guess, but when they get to '09, we'll probably see who's going to be on the cover.

I wish they would make the crowd a little more realistic. They have looked the same since like, 98! It is stupid cuz they look crappy and for sum reeson it bothers me!

Yeah, the first Head Coach sucked. I mean, it was good for the most part, but it got boring way too fast. Hopefully Head Coach 09 will be better. I'm buying that as well as Madden NFL 09, so yeah.

Hopfully they will expand the Hall of Fame Superstar mode or what ever it is lol. I would love to see if your person was injured, you would have to go through rehab until your back to normal.

I don't know about the PS2 version, but I know that the Xbox 360 version (and probably the other next-gen versions as well) are going to have online co-op and online leagues as well. I'm very excited about that. The play calling menus are also going to have a more next-gen feel to it. I can't wait for '09. It seems like they're actually doing something to the Madden game this year instead of just updating the roster and making a few minor changes.

what do u mean by the playcalling screen will have a next-gen feeling? if u play current gen n then next gen, it is next gen. the playcalling is pretty different.
but actually, i doubt there will be much difference between '08 n '09. no game EVER changes much. but if you play a gap of like 4 years, then it's dramatically different. for example, play '04 n then play '08. whoa...seems like a LOT of improvements right? yea, during a 4 year span. each year, there's not a whole lot.
