Hey all, I've recently started playing Madden 08 on PC and I've only got one major gripe so far.
It seems when I verse my friend (who plays as the colts), I can never block or prevent long passes to his wide recievers! This occurs even when I use deep formations such as prevent, his WR's are just waaay to fast and gain a lot of ground on my cornerbacks/safeties.
P.S I'm playing as the Steelers.

Have you tried blitzing? When I think my opponent is going for his WR, I bring the pass blitz. Either Dime or Quarter formation, and house blitz, Fire Blitz, DB blitz (I play as the Broncos).
Give his QB less time to look for the deep pass.

Like the guy VK you need to bring the blitz. It will work because it will give Manning less time to throw the ball. Go Giants

i use the 46 defense. blitz alot
