God of War has alot of Gameplay. The same the others offered.Final Fantasy will always win with the story because that's what Final Fantasy is all about.
I finished both GoW : CoO and FFVII : CC. And I can safely say that the gameplay of CC has much more to offer than CoO. It also has a great replayability. For example, trying to get 100% on missions and DMW can give you like 30+ hours of game time.

And I'm not trying to turn this thread into a Crisis Core vs. Chains of Olympus discussion.

Thats what your doing though
Crisis Core and Chains of Olympus are two different Genres. Ones Action and One's RPG, of course the RPG will have more replay Value its an rpg.

Chains of Olympus has Epic storyline, Great gameplay, And Length wasn't an issue for me. There is also Challenge of the Gods and such for you to tackle and that will bring the hours to 30 as well.

Chains of Olympus keeps everything thats great from the PS2 ones. You guys expect far too much for PSP. Games.

Read at Dawn Focuses more on Gameplay than it does Length like SE. You can't compare the two. Star your cool and all but you need to stop comparing them.

To say this game isn't great is stupid. The graphics is just PS2 quality if not better. R@D has done a great Job with this game even me, a hardcore God of War fan is shocked at how awesome they got a PSP game looking. SE isn't a surprised since they've been doing this for awhile.

I think it was a good game for PSP. You cant expect the game to be as in depth and original as a PS2 or 3 game. It was good for the system it was built for.

God of War looks better than FFVII! It's the best looking game on the psp.

GoW : CoO - 1

the only two tings that disappointed me was the short length of the game and how easy it was to find all the Gorons eye's and all the Fenix feather's.
on the 1st and 2nd GoW I never get them all. and i still play them from time to time.

I finished it in about 3 hrs, but I'm trying out God mode, and you'll find that it'll give you loads more gaming time. Challenge of Hades is another cool thing to master. At any rate, its more than enough to keep me preoccupied while I wait for my copy of GTA IV to crash down the mail box.

You people (who were dissapointed) need a major slap in the face. You are comparing this game as if it was on one of the console systems, rather than a portable system. You need to judge a portable game AS a portable game, not in comparison to everything that's available right now.

This is probably the greatest portable gaming achievement that has ever been established. The game has PS2 visuals, extremely smooth gameplay, great sound, short loading times ((Not to mention that it didn't end up being a Mission-Based Game like Crisis Core), and the game lasts 4-8 hours (depending on your difficulty) on a small 1.8 Gigabyte UMD. That is an amazing achievement all in itself.

God of War I and II were longer sure...they had ALOT more space than this does. PS2 DVD format discs can hold almost 5 Gigabytes. That's over 2 and 1/2 times larger than a UMD. The fact that they were able to fit all of what they did on a UMD is absolutely incredible.

When you play portable games like this, you need to understand that UMD's don't have the capacity to compare themselves with things like 360 or PS2 games. The fact that this game DID compare with those on the quality of everything it had in it is an amazing accomplishment from Ready at Dawn.

I was really disappointed.
I beat it in 1 day. Hoped there would be a much more solid storyline. The gameplay was great. Just that the game itself was too short.

Modded PSP ftw? =P

No we don't.
Games can be on small media and have massive gameplay. Like MHF1/2, like Zelda games of old, like Pokemon, Final Fantasy Crisis Core...
We should judge it as a normal game, and it should be made as one. Sure, this one did well, but a lot of short games don't have great gameplay/graphics/etc, and they should be judged as normal games too.

You can't Fairly judge a PSP game as a normal (PS2/PS3, 360, etc) game. UMD's just do not have the space capacity to compare with those systems. That would be like comparing Metal Gear Solid: Portable Ops with Metal Gear Solid 4. Portable Ops only had 1.5 Gigs to work with while MGS4 had a massive amount of more space to work with. It's only natural to assume that MGS4 will be MUCH more impressive and better than MPO because of that advantage of space.

Sure, Zelda, Pokemon games did much better. Look at their visuals. They are almost all cartoon-ish, sprite based games. That does not take much space at all, you could put something like a Pokemon game on a UMD and put in hours upon hours upon hours of new features, still without getting close to using up the entire UMD, but this game does not look like that. It is a very detailed PS2 quality game and there is only so much they can do with that on a UMD. They even had to cut out a level just so it would fit on the disc.

To judge a PSP game the same amount that you'd judge a 360 game would be terribly unfair to the PSP game and to the people who made the game. They just Cannot use the same means of making it as they can to make a game for the current consoles because of the immense capcity difference.

And, the games you said had Massive gameplay, MHF1 and 2, Zelda, Pokemon, Crisis Core. Those are ALL RPG's and RPGs basically HAVE to have a massive amount of gameplay in them because of what they are. God of War is not an RPG. It is a simple Action game, and is obviously not going to be nearly as long as they were
