My best assault setup is:
Chain Gun (infinite ammo)
Tri Shot (infinite ammo)
Wrist Rocket (homing is uber)
Jump Pack (faster than jet pack, combine with wrist rocket)
You've basically got the ability to swap out one overheated weapon for another, without having to worry about ammo. The rockets have great damage/tracking ability, and as said, use them with the jump pack to really hit them before they can even aim up.

Mine has to be Blaster Rifle and Cluster Grenades.
Blaster Rifle is the standard gun, so it must be useful. It's just a shame about the small clip it carries.
And Cluster Grenades... Well, one of them can destroy almost any Starfighter, and they're helpful for taking out Heroes.

although starting to use the sniper and starting to get the hang of it XD

jump packs are the best special item they can get you out of tricky situations

blaster rifle- i always liked it and its good.
fusion cutter- 0 credits and i can beat armor with it.
no other weapons but because i pick these i use the 45 left over points to get;
capture speed 3- makes lets u capture a command post in like a second, and gives u a uber long stamina bar.
Speed lvl 2- makes u decently fast and get can run from command post to command post in seconds.
Health lvl 2- gives u hell of allot more health then what us start with.
with these power boost i can beat on glatic conquest a army of 100 with only 20 people and have only like 5 casulties.
