Can anyone tell me how to "discover" Vault 82? I Have been there via Murder Pass after going to Little Lamp Light, and I have even retrieved the G.E.C.K. from the Vault. However, the Vault 82 location on my Pip-Boy map still has a strike through it, and I know that trying to go in from above ground is Impossible due to the excessive radiation levels.
Anyone know whats going on?

1. Get a shitload of Rad-X and RadAway, about 100 of each.
2. Stand in front of the irradiated area around Vault 87. Make sure all enemies around you are dead, and that you can fast travel.
3. Take all your Rad-X.
4. Start running into the irradiated area while feeding yourself RadAway (via hotkey) as if you couldn't last 5 seconds without it. And, in this case, you can't.
5. Once you near the door to Vault 87, the location will be discovered. At this exact moment, immediately fast travel to a safe location, such as Vault 101 or Megaton.

Unless they have 100% rad resistance they won't be able to fast travel after reaching the vault.

That's what the Rad-X is for, isn't it?
If that doesn't work, you'll have to run away, then. Bring 200 packs of RadAway. 100 for approach, 100 for retreat.

Thing is you can't get 100% Rad resistance, it caps off at 85%.
So yeah I guess they need to make a run for it.

The ironic thing is, even though Fawkes is supposed to heave 100% Rad Resistance, he still dies from the radiation.

Thats made aware when he retrieves the GECK for you in Vault 87. When he comes back out of the radiated room with the GECK, it's obvious when you talk to him that he's not feeling that great.
