-------------------------------------------

here's my report on my sporting lisbon master league i started recently. il start with my squad analasys.
squad:
GK-1.rui patvicio-the 19 year old broke in to the first team due to his good development curve that reaches 89 for wich i have high hopes.
CB-2.tonel- a regular first team member
CB3.gladstone- a good big solid centre back not the best but good for the team.
SB4.abel- a decent right back, im still planning on strengthening tough but he'l do, for now.
SB5.ronny- a great left back can really make great bursting forward runs im nor planning on replacing him.
CMF6.paredes- he's the spine of my team can really control play in the middle of the park.
CMF7.farnevud- a great player very similair to paredes.
RMF8.shimizu- a 17 year old gem, has got 3 assist in 3 ppearences, peaks at age 21 above 95! future star got him in the mid season transfer window well i offered him a contract and he came he's to find in the rookie section
LWF9.izmailov- my star player nobody in my team is better than this guy he's the best.
AMF10.joao moutinho- one of the best players very good winger and similair to izmailov.
CF11.guerero- one of my two buys, got him in the previous mid season transfer window and he's looking alright got a goal on his debut his only goal in 3 appearances.
12.pedro silva-a few chances to play and is always destined for the bench.
13.tiago- this goalkeeper has never started for my team just one appearence as a substitute.
14.concalves- i have high hopes for this 19 year old he might take over from abel at right back.
15.anderson polga- makes rare starts.
16.derlei-hes knocking on guerero's door for starts this cf might become a first team member if guerero doesnt produce soon.
17.djalo-regular bench warmer, no chance of first team appearences, has to go in the summer.
18.romagnoli-im still thinking about the argentina internationals chances, he regularly comes off the bench to replace shimizu due to shimizu's low stamina.
19.adrien silva-is a player who regularly comes of my bench.
20.celsinho- this youngster (17) has a development peak at 89 so he will definetely get a chance.
21.had-the big left back was a former first team member after ronny's drop of form but is now regularly left out.
22.liedson-my best striker on paper (stats) but not on the pitch is really not producing and will be offered in return for another striker, probably for gignac from toulouse one of my transfer targets.
23.adrien silva-regular outsider had a few chances but will go very soon...
24.miguel veloso- pushing for first team action and is very close.
25.y.pupo-really impressed when this youg kid made his first appearance definetely one for the future.
26.stojkovic-this goalkeeper was no.1 until a disastrous penalty giveaway and a serie of blunders the 24 year old is no no.3.
27.paulo renato- regularly outside the squad not really produced after several chances
28.a.marques-never made one appearance
29.b.pereirinha-never appeared
30.yukevic-never produced for me after 3-4 chances
31.purovic-made a few appearences but is just not good enough.
team stats:
ranked seven in division 2 and through to the next round in division 2 cup- im really dissapointed with this, my team just cant cut it with teams such as celtic olympiacos fenerbache in the master league were fresh from a draw with fc kopenhagen 3weeks ago after succesive cup matches wich we won 3-0, and the second leg 2-1 against celtic in the second division
win average-38.10%
won-8
drawn-7
lost-6
goals scored-28
goals conceded-23
goal difference-5
yellow cards-18
red cards-7
top goal scorers in my team-
6goals for,izmailov- best player in my squad hands down, when hes injured were hopeless.
4 goals for,derlei-pushing for first team action due to guerero's 1 goal in 4 appearances but i wont axe guerero soon he seems capable and will get a number of chances.
4 goals for, liedson- funnily enough this players got 4 goals all tap ins and all assisted by izmailov my star player.
3 goals for, farnerud-he got a hatrick in one game so he basically scored all his season goals in one game.
2 goals for paredes- he got two goals from random play.
here is all the lates news from the sporting lisbon camp this season-
immature ''no brain'' attitude, moutinho
joao mouthino's poor attitude
fans have critisized joao moutinhos recent poor attitude after 1 red card and 5yellows in 7 matches, he has been accused of diving by referees and hes said to be the most indisiplined player in the league. the master league directories will look into the case and issue a ban if he recieves one more card, moutinho lashed out at the fans calling them ''not loyal'' mouthino will decide if he stays in the near future.
in despair liedson
underperforming liedson
the fans have critisized liedson's performances as being ''bullsh*t'' his popularity has decreased to a under par E, one fan made a comment issuing ''that guy liedson should get axed i mean he's underperforming badly and shouldnt be playing for this team anymore, come summer time- he's got to go to a smaller club where he'l get a chance''. liedson has made an apology and issued that he will try his best when he gets his chances.
main target, gignac just three more days
just three more days, gignac
gignac has warned the sporting lisbon manager that he needs 3 more days to decide a move, the manager made 2 offers for gignac and both were turned down one was said to be a swoop of liedson for gignac and some extra cash. gignac has commented by saying ''sporting are a great club, i like some of their players, i really look forward to playing with players in their squad, well... thats if i join ofcourse, i will see in three days if i want to and how well theyl be doing, then il decide''. he has revealed that he will keep his decision secret until he actually makes a move or not.
izmailov, all fired up
on fire, izmailov
in form winger izmailov is all fired up and the fans admire him and the manager has called him ''our star player'' he's bagged 6 goals this season from the LWF position and the fans cheer him every touch he makes, he has been put down with 4 injuries forcing him out of the side. but hes back now fresh and injury free and ready to assist and score, he is also the only sporting lisbon freekick scorer this campain.
i will post another one up in three days i probably reached summer by then and have alot of new signings etc.

it means how populair a player is with the crowd if he isnt than he gets booed and if he is he gets cheered you also have team popularity wich could attract players to your club if your populair, player popularity could also determine wether another player moves to your club or not, the higher the player popularity the smaller chance. so if a player dives or gets sent of or performs bad the popularity goes down

Villarreal CF:

Information:
Founded: 1923
Based: in a small town in the province of Castellon.
Stadium: 23,000 seater El Madrigal stadium.
Nickname: El Submarino Amarillo
Home Kit: Yellow shirt shorts and socks
Villarreal are involved in illegal money dealings:

On the eve of the newly created master league, Spain has been rocked by a massive scandal. The culprit was mad chairman Fernando Roig Alfonso who is said to have been involved in many illegal dealings. The club had also been match-fixing a number of games. As a result in the multiple things wrong with the club, Fernando Roig Alfonso was jailed, Villarreal lost their place in the 1st division of the new master league and were forced to go into administration. All senior players were released and Manuel Pellegrini resigned as club manager. It was a daunting task ahead for new Manager Rafael dos Santos.
Villarreal try to rebuild:
Despite the problems of the club Dos Santos managed to bring in a full squad of players on free transfers. The highlights of these summer signings were Igor Jaric, Juan Guttierrez and Vincent Ettori. However Villarreal have no realistic chance in promotion as the majority of players brought in were mediocre. Also Dos Santos has been forced to bring a rotation policy in place because of the poor fitness of his team.
Opening 2 games:
The opening game of the season saw Villarreal play Panathinaikos FC. This game was extremely dull and fans began giving out about negative tactics from both teams. The match without any real talking points had a nice performance by Ettori.
The second game was against Helsingborgs of Sweden. Helsingborgs who had home advantage were slight favourites going into the match. However Villarreal pulled out a performance no-one saw coming and comfortably won the game. Hamsun and Guttierrez were the scorers. Guttierez showed all the recent talk of him was just he scored a goal and an assist in this match. Dos Santos was pleased with the fact his team kept 60% possession and how bravely his defence fought. Villarreal are in 4th place in the table after 2 games. Things will get tougher has fatigue sets in.

Some players celebrate
The start of the struggle
Villarreal were in an upbeat mood going into the next game. This game though was against Celtic, one of the top sides in the league. Shockingly Villarreal took the lead thanks to an Artur Boruc mistake and were still in the lead an hour in. The Yellow Submarine fans were in disbelief, could they make a promotion challenge this year? The answer is an astounding no. Celtic dominated the last quarter of the game and ran out 3-1 winners.
The next game was against Wisla Krakow, 'a winnable game' according to manager Rafael Dos Santos. Villarreal took the lead in this game aswell. Desmond Macco took on 2 players and also supplied the finish. However Krakow's far superior technical and physical ability allowed them to win 2-1. Dos Santos was disappointed that his team had lost leads in both matches but admitted he had an almighty job on his hands.
Villarreal were also suffering from a defensive crisis. Some of the goals they were conceding were comical and players such as Stremer and Libermann were not playing to their usual standards. Game 5 was against Internacinal of Brazil. This game finished 0-0. Internacional were top of the table before the game so Dos Santos was relatively pleased with the result. He also felt the defensive problems had been averted.
Villarreal also were struggling to score. This was shown in their next game against Copenhagen. There was an obvious lack of creativity in the midfield. Players such as Luca Dodo and Frank Stein were playing excellently at the back but players such as Heinz Fouque and Raul Minanda were playing poorly. Vincent Ettori great start to the season seemed to have petered out.
Villarreal lie 15th in the table. River Plate are in 1st place.
Villarreal's next game is against Anderlecht.
Dos Santos has set out to get at least 3 of these players in January.

Poor Starters
Tottenham Hotspur's 2007-08 campaign got off to a rather dismal start with 2 draw's in succession to Besiktas and Anderlecht, followed by a shocking 1-0 defeat to IFK Gotegorg. However there was some joy in this turbulent start courtesy of a sublimely struck half volley from Fin Teemu Tainio against Besiktas in the 90th minute to level the game and rescue a point for the North Londoners.
Climbing The Table
Tottenham's early blip turned out to be only a blip as a run of 5 wins in a row pulled them to the top of the table, two pints ahead of Ukrainians Dynamo Kiev. The run of 5 win's in a row was down to a sublime run of form from strikers Darren Bent and Wayne Routledge, with Bent scoring 5 in as many games and Routledge with 2 goals and 3 assists.
The revival started with a comfortable 3-0 win at home against AEK Athens, which was followed by another 3-0 win against fellow Greeks Olympiakos. Next was a 2-0 win against Turks Galatasary in which the red mist descended on the game as both Jermaine Jenas and K.P Boateng saw red for multiple bookable offences. Next was an entertaining encounter with River Plate resulting in a 3-2 win, the fan's had even more reason to cheer after an acrobatic winner was struck by club captain Ledley King gifting him his first of the season. Finally a 3-0 away win to Swiss outfit FC Basel saw two stunning contenders for Goal Of The Season. First, after neat trickery on the left by Teemu Tainio a cross was delivered deep into the box as the on rushing Darren Bent acrobatically steered the ball goalwards from 12 yards out. The other contender was a peach from Jermain Defoe, ironically minutes after he'd came on as a substitute for Bent. Robbie Keane won possession just outside the centre circle and the ball ricocheted it's way to Defoe, he dribbled a few yards forward before unleashing a superb strike curling into Constanzo's top right hand corner rounding off a comfortable win for the men in white.
Table Toppers
After Tottenham's early season struggles they began to look like one of the best sides in the league as they tried to establish themselves as one of the front runners in League A.
After a creditable 1-1 away draw in Belgium at the hands of Club Brugge following a formidable equalising strike from powerhouse Tom Huddlestone. The next results were successive 3-0 triumphs at White Hart Lane over Fenerbahce and Scottish side Rangers, although Spurs' luck would run out as they travelled to Parkhead to face Rangers near neighbours Celtic. Celtic took the lead and eventual win as Jan Vennegoor Of Hesselink rised highest to nod in a Nakamura corner in the 37th minute, and although Spurs attempted to get back level they were thwarted by numerous world class saves from Pole Artur Boruc handing Tottenham only there second loss of the campaign.
3 Days later Spurs bounced back with an emphatic win in the cup winning 5-2 over AEK Athens with goals from Dawson,Lennon,Ghaly and a brace from Jermain Defoe.
The nest week Spurs drew dismally at home to Red Star Belgrade 0-0 after a superb showing from Red Star keeper Ivan Ranđelović thwarting efforts from Berbatov,Keane and Jermaine Jenas
Spurs Run Riot In Denmark
There are two types of riot: the type where multiple people engage in physical action and fight and then there when one football team simply outclasses the other, and it was the latter that was on show when Spurs thumped FC Copenhagen 5-0 in Copenhagen
The rout started when Jermaine Jenas struck a wonderful swerving shot from 25 yards into the top right hand corner after a neat pass from Jermain Defoe after 18 minutes. Next on the score sheet was Defoe after another fearsome shot from Jenas was beat away from Copenhagen keeper Jesper Christiansen albeit into the path of Defoe for a tap in 6 yards out. Then on the stroke of halftime a strike from winger Aaron Lennon was once again parried into the path of Michael Dawson 3 yards out to score his third of the season.
The penultimate goal secured the points for the Londoners as Darren Bent coolly slotted home 5 minutes after the interval after a superb through ball from Kevin Prince Boateng.
The rout was finished by a Copenhagen player as Darren Bent looked set to collect a brace he unselfishly tried to pick out Jermain Defoe with a through ball across the face of goal, but his through ball was deflected by Hjalte Nørregaard and was taken pass the helpless keeper but with not enough pace Defoe chased the ball in and slid with Copenhagen captain Michael Gravgaard and the Norweigen had put the ball over the line before Defoe could.
So an emphatic away win for Spurs scoring 5 in a match for the second time this season. Good times at White Hart Lane
Refereeing Horror Show
Referee Kazuki Ito was the highlight of the match when Greek giants Panathinaikos and high flying Tottenham met at the Apostolos Nikolaidis Stadium.
The match started well for Tottenham creating several chances without capitalising on them They contained the Greeks to just one shot from 35 yards. In the 60th minute however the match was all to change. After a corner was well defended by Panathinaikos they were on the counter and Spurs skipper Ledley King made a rash challenge on winger Equi Gonzalez, the crowd and commentators were as shocked as King was when Japanese referee Kazuki Ito brandished a straight red card for the challenge. Ito was surrounded by players of both teams and the coaching staff of Tottenham. 3 Tottenham players were booked in the midst of the controversy. Spurs manager Liam Coleman ran onto the pitch and had "words" with the referee about his decision, Coleman was subsequently sent to watch the rest of the game from the stands. With Spurs' talismanic defender gone they crumbled under pressure as Dame N'Doye slipped one under Paul Robinson from the resulting free kick. With Spurs piling on the pressure Panathinaikos went 6 at the back. Spurs however had the ball in the back of the net in the 89th minute as an Anthony Gardner header was sent goalwards from a corner kick, but for an unknown reason the goal was not given. Panathinaikos went onto hold out for the win although Spurs goalie Paul Robinson hit the bar with a header in injury time.
This match will surely be remembered for Kazuki Ito's refereeing.
Week 16,17 And 18
Tottenham's next opponents were there early season challengers Dynamo Kiev. If Spurs were going to mount a real title challenge nothing more than a win would do.
After a lacklustre first half from both sides, the second half started with a bang from Darren Bent as his quickfire double put Spurs comfortably ahead. The first was from nothing as constant hassle from Bent soon paid of as he managed to force an error in the Kiev defence and won the ball from Vladyslav Vashchuk and slotted away past the Unkranian number one Oleksandr Shovkovskiy. The second came three minutes later as Bent rose highest to meet a great corner by young starlet Garteh Bale. The Londoners went home with all 3 points securely and with a satisfactory result.
Week 17 saw Spurs in action twice with a league match against HJK Helsinki and the second leg of their tie with AEK Athens.
The week started well as Dimitar Berbatov put Spurs in front against Helsinki after just 3 minutes with a direct header after a magical piece of skill from Paul Stalteri left his marker for dead on the left and he sent in a brilliant ball to the Bulgarian. The second was almost a carbon copy of the first as Stalteri put in another great left footed ball after a backheel from Wayne Routledge for the Bulgarian to head into the net from 3 yards.
The win was secured in the 65th minute as a Danny Murphy cross into a deserted penalty area was volleyed in stunningly by youngster Adel Taarabt from 10 yards to scored his first for the club although all was not done.
Spurs scored a fourth 10 minutes later as Robbie Keane advanced down the left wing much like Stalteri had done previously and put in a great ball for Huddlestone to head in from 8 yards. 4-0
The final goal of the game involved two players who linked up brilliantly on the day. Stalteri gained his 3rd assist of the match assisting the man he did so twice previously, Berbatov had scored his first hat-trick for the club and the first of any player at Spurs this season. 5-0 for the second time this season.
'That Game'
3 Days later Tottenham took on AEK Athens in Greece knowing a win would see them progress through to the next round.
It could'nt have started any better as Darren Bent's chipped through ball found Jermaine Jenas unmarked 20 yards out but his effort was saved and rebounded to Aaron Lennon who dove head first for the opener.
Darren Bent made it two with a bullet header from Gareth Bale's corner.
With a 7-2 aggregiate lead AEK would need a miracle to stage a comeback but there miracle may have become a reality as Paul Robinson Tottenham's only fit keeper was sent off for a sliding challenge. With no substitute keeper Spurs had to play 60 minutes with Anthony Gardner between the sticks.
The comeback looked a possibility as Rivaldo dummied the stand in goalkeeper and spectacularly used the Rabona technique to finish off in the 50th minute, but all was to no avail as Spurs took an 8-3 aggregiate lead as Ledley King headed home another Bale corner 3 minutes later.
The result just got worse for AEK as Jermain Defoe made it 4-1 as Spurs counter attacked with 3 Spurs players against 1 helpless AEK defender. Aaron Lennon dribbled the ball a full 70 yards before laying the ball off to Defoe who matched Rivaldo's skillful goal with a clever back heel past the keeper from 12 yards out.
To lose 5-1 to a team with 10 men for an hour and no goalkeeper must feel extremely embarassing and that's how i think the AEK players felt. Jermain Defoe marauded down the left before squaring the ball to Darren Bent with just the keeper to beat, Bent shimmied the ball left, the keeper dived and an AEK defender has bundled over his own goalkeeper leaving Bent to put home his second of the match and Tottenham's fifth. 5-1 it finished and this is what manager Liam Coleman had to say about this topsy-turvy game.
"It's a magnificent day for Tottenham Hotspur Football Club. We came to Greece hoping for a comfortable 1-0 or 2-0 win, but what we had today if there hadn't had been cameras here nobody would've believed it. It was magnificent. I'd never believe that a team with no goalkeeper and down to 10 men would be able to win 5-1. It's a fantastic result.
Week 16,17 And 18 cont.
Tottenham's final game before the January trasfer window saw them face Hammarby away, with manager Coleman still in awe of the events of the midweek cup game he decided to rest a few of his big name stars and gave starts for several youngsters including Ben Alnwick,Philip Ifil and Lee Barnard
After a significatly weakened Spurs side failed to break the deadlock before the break, young Lee Barnard thanked his manager for his first start of the season by scoring a well taken goal after a great pass by teammate Tom Huddlestone after 66 minutes.
Spurs held on to come away with another great win away from home.
When asked after the game about the January transfer window, Liam Coleman said this :
"Who will i buy? There is no-one i need. I Have a fantastic set of young players who i am very happy with. On the other hand if a player is not happy at this football club, i am not going to stop them from leaving it will be a sad moment but it will be best for player and team."Statistics -

I just played my first game of Master League since last week or something. Funnily enough it was a derby against Real Betis. Pretty tough game too. I started off poorly, giving Betis lots of opportunities to score which they didn't take. At the brink of half time, Ari got his first goal for the club, I was pretty happy for him, but it was on the line when he hit it. At the start of the second half, Betis got an equaliser and then I had to push hard. We then played excellent, Adriano (Sevilla) making a great solo run down the right wing and hitting a great strike at the keeper, he palmed it into the net, 2-1. With five minutes left then, Chevanton sealed the game with a good goal, he's hit great form. 3-1 the game ended.
