Your plan didn't work so well =[
Anywho, late, but complaints none the less.
first, several small shadow errors. The tileset was misaligned during creating.
The rugs/mats in the top left don't make much sense. Maybe a merchants mat or somthing?
The stumps on the grass can easily be editted to look like they are in the grass, and not on it.
The exposed bricks on the house cannot cross over the wooden beams that support the corner.
The axe'd wooden block seems awkward. Wood cutters usually place them in open areas, with plenty of room. Both for swinging their heavy axes, and for placing split logs, and unsplit logs alike.
The fence looks like they hired a nutjob craftsmen. Changes direction to much, but that may be personal taste. I like straighter fences.
Don't be lazy, tile your grass pl0xz. Auto-tiled grass is so tacky.
The door is high contrast. Try lowering it, or rasiing the rest of the tileset's contrast to see the effects you can come up with. Otherwise it looks odd.
The map itself is nice, expecially for a tileset test in VX.

I laughed for a few minutes.. XD

Anyway..
I was only toying with this tileset..
http://www.rmxp.org/forums/index.php?topic=43724.0The little shadow bugs have been removed from the new version..
But thanks for the feedback.

If you think it's confusing now, be thankful you're not testing out my game

(That'll be in the next demo btw)

I love the old school feel of RMVX. XP may have prettier graphics, but for charm factor, it can't beat VX.
Speaking of old school, here's a little something I whipped up for kicks - Coneria from FF1:

I have a problem with the stream though. I just don't like the way it goes under the walls....
Mine coming up soon!

O M G.
I love you! Corneria rocks.
Do crescent lake now!
Surprisingly, the FF maps don't look that bad in VX tiles. Nice work.
Also, the streams in FF1 didn't actually leave the town. They hit the tree line, and stopped.

In the NES version of FF1, the streams just stopped at the trees, so that's how I had it originally. But I had a look at the GBA remake, and they went under the walls, so I tried that. It looks better than the way I had it first, but the GBA version also had nifty little grates that made it look like the water was going through the wall, so it's still not as good as it could be.
And thanks for the welcome. Maybe I'll give Crescent Lake a shot, just to see how it looks.

Holy... Crud.
A noob that speaks in complete sentances and actually has an idea of how the prgram works! This is an absolute breakthrough in society!
I would say it's a good copy of the map, but I've never played FF (my biggest failing EVER).
Either way, it looks pretty good

Which was kind of like you when you started typing better. LOL
If you haven't played FF then go get it for PSP or GBA or whichever on you own, nao! You can't say you've lived until you've played FF. My NES broke 5 years ago, probably from constantly playing Super Mario Bros., Rescue Rangers, and Final Fantasy lol.
I'm planning to get Final Fantasy and FFII again for my PSP though, looks pretty fun it has some bonus features.
