When i first fought him same same exact problem... How you beat him is when he forces you to gravity dive,you have to meteor burst off the glass panels and into him. If YOU hit him enough times, youll advance laps, and eventually beat him.If one of the other racers hit him, doesnt count for you.

You'll have to stay in front of the opponents or you won't get the hit usually too.

I found out this cool and fast way to defeat abis. OK, so these are the instructions...
1. Get alot of coins until you can use grind
2. Next,(this will only work if u r 3rd or 4th) jump to the grind, it should be easy to spot
3. When you are on the grind, make sure that abis use gravity control
4. When you get off the grind, Your gravity control will burst and in less than 1 second, you will already touch abis.
