Someone please please help, I've tried all the different ways to defeat the ice queen. Kill the shield with Toan, then run and let ruby shoot her, back and forth. That'd work except one thing...ruby is doing 6damage! Thats all! If I equip the desert sword to him will he hurt the ice queen as well? Also, I've tried using the fire gems, thats a no go. How can I beat her..or am I screwed over?

Its easy, just level up Ruby a little bit. And if you can get the timing just right with ruby you can just fire away and kill the Ice queen in one solid run. SO just work on Ruby's weapon and you will win.

Bombs work, so equip as many as you can in items with extras stored. Also equip alot of Rapair, Revive, and Allie Switchy-thingy powders
They help lots

if one of your allies "dies" and you have stand in powder does that character revive when you switch in another allie?

No, it just gives you a chance to use another ally instead of exiting the dungeon. However, if you have a revivie powder........thats a diffrent story.

Yay! I beat her! But, for all you out there, here is the best way. Make Ruby's platnium ring on the fire attribute, and all store up on ALOT of repair powder. What you do, is when the battle starts, hide behind a pillar where the ice queen can't get you. As soon as her attack hits the pillar, have Xiao jump out, hit her shield a few times, go back behind the pillar. Repeat until her shield is gone. Then, using ruby, do damage. Once more with Xiao break her shield. This is a LONG LONG battle. BUT I didn't get hurt once with this strategy! Enjoy

i think thats what ill try but first im gonna try leveling up xiao and ruby a little bit more.

I still can't beat her. I've stocked up on bombs for extrapower, and run around when she shoots the ice beam thingy, then lock onto her, making it disappear. I saved right before zI enter the dungeon so I caqn restart if I lose x.x I still can't beat her after all this and, although Ruby is doing pretty good damage sing the Holy attribute (46 I think
) I still can't beat her! I alway seem to die when She has very little hp left (I can tell because she's resorted to more requent whirlwinds and using heavy attacks like that signifies bosses danger-always) and I have run out of stand in powder. I have also run out of money 
And I just bought DC1 ysterday (I had rented it and was instantly hooked) so yay for me! Plus I got new glasses

Also, be sure to check out the Dark Cloud FAQ Links sticky at the top of the forum page. There's a link underneath the Queens listing with more information on Ice Queen La Saia and how to defeat her.
As a side note, my strategy for beating her was rather cheap. I used Xiao's slingshot to bring down her shield, then used Ruby's magic to do some damage afterwards while using one of the room pillars as cover. Both had the fire attribute on their weapons. Just food for thought if a close range strategy isn't working for ya.

another way is using about 15 fire gems, but they all have to hit, if they all hit, it should kill her.

The easiest way is to take your strongest long-distance character (for me, Xiao) and put their weapon on the fire-attribute. Have some bombs or fire gems ready to throw and when La Saia has her shield up, throw one. This will take off the shield. After that, attack and repeat if necessar.
A friend of mind beat her after throwing three bombs consecutively.

do swords work for attacking her because i have a really strong mardan twei and goro's hammer is really strong too. my long range characters kinda suck...

well, my Toan did have the 7th heaven sword when i battle her first time, so she was no problem, just use Ruby with ice equiped, then when her force field is down use a close combat character like toan to finish her off.

I've beat her, and the King's Curse was super easy...but now...THE HUGE AND SCARY MINATAUR JOE!!
